After a short holiday break, we’re back to bring you all the news you might have missed this past two weeks.
News
- After days of speculation, it was finally confirmed that Arthelon will be joining Cloud9 as the team prepares for the upcoming Spring Circuit. The former Tempo Storm carry will undoubtedly be a strong addition to Cloud9’s roster, and we wish the team the best of luck.
- And just as Arthelon joins Cloud9’s squad, Fan Yang, at this point one of biggest stars in the scene, has left C9 and joined Bob Ross Fan Club, one of the strongest independent teams lead by the Buechter brothers, Christopher “Zuna” and Kenneth “Kenma”.
- Dustin Browder hasn’t been very active on Twitter because of the holidays. However, he took the time to answer to a suggestion of a player. What if the Core gained shields depending on how many keeps it has? it would reward players for taking more keeps and make rushing the core a little more difficult, giving the teams a bigger defender's advantage. Dustin thinks the idea is worth considering -- yet another great example of how player feedback is very valuable for Blizzard developers.
- He also tweeted a couple of other interesting thoughts. For example, he mentions the team is considering bringing the StarCraft 2 MMR decay system to Heroes of the Storm, which is something that had already been brought up before, but it's good to hear they are still considering it.
Tournaments
- http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/Heroes_Rising is the first major tournament of the year. Taking place the 9th and 10th of January (this weekend!), the tournament features both the best established teams and newcomers in North America. Tempo Storm, Cloud9, Murloc Geniuses, Panda Global, oVo, COGnitive Gaming, Bob Ross Fan Club, Team Blaze and King of Blades-Alpha will fight for a $10,000 dollar prize pool at the eSports Arena in Santa Ana, California. This is what the players had to say about the tournament:
