This happened with this book as everything else, I got 20 thousand words in and was like "eh I don't feel like writing." Instead of doing what I normally did, I told myself I would write everyday (well almost) a minimum of 500-1000 words 5 days a week. After a couple weeks of doing this my passion for my story increased and I finally finished it. The final word count for my first draft is 116,741 words. It's weird knowing I finished my first draft and can proceed to the next step, editing and rewriting parts.
Before I do that however, I am going to take about 2-3 weeks off of writing and re-read some of my favorite books before going into the editing phase. After that I will have to find an editor and someone to do the cover art, but I will worry about that once I feel like my story is "complete".
I will say writing has given me more appreciation to authors then I had before. I find myself forgetting about certain things or some character names and have to reference my notepad, coming up with names is also a pain in my ass (I have always been bad at it).
Thanks for reading and for all you writers, good luck and enjoy the grind!
