Anyway, Korean schools do not have prom; students do not dance at all, because there's no sort of activities that are related with dancing. sorry, it's just a figure of speech or w/e here. it just means to ask them out for an occaision/date/w/e anyway, i'll just remove it since it detracts from the point
Interesting. I spent my secondary-school days in Brisbane, but never heard of it.
Anyway, I do agree with your opinion.

Oh that's very bad

Waiting for Afreeca stream. One day Jaedong will retire and another ensnere will crash into FanTaSy marines. Ah, what a game.

Oh God, again, the drama-crowd desperately trying to get attention...
How is that retirement a surprise or telling for the state of SC2? Compared to his past successes, Fantasy has been one of the least successful players for years. How much longer should he try to break through? Till he´s thirty? The man´s gotta think of his future, not because SC2 or esports has no future, but because he has none in it. We don´t know if anybody will ever have, esports is too young to tell whether a life-time career is even possible.
People just have to accept that pro-gaming in general is a thing you do while you´re young, like so many other sports, too. And then, some earlier, some later, you have to change your priorities, get a degree, get a job, build a future. And then new kids come around to take their places. There´s no shame in that.
So, instead of drooling of dead-game-prophecies and SC2-BW-dick-comparisons people should wish him the best and enjoy the games of the next generation of Flashs and Rains.

Except we don't have new generation. And with the new WCS system Blizzard made sure there won't be.

And WCS Welfare claims another victim

Oh for fuck sake...not another retirement :`(
I wish you all the best in your future endeavours, FanTaSy

There are still plenty of progamers, some of which will come out on top of the others.

It's just pretty logical to retire as a new expansion comes out, really, just like how people retire after the WCS circuit is over for a year.

Thanks for the memories Fantasy

Well deserved retirement.

There are only 2 seasons of each. He already failed to qualify for the first season for both (I know GSL still has qualifiers and Code A, it seems he already gave up after SSL qualifiers). That means he has nothing to do until the end of season one and then try one final time before blizzcon.

On topic: fuck why all terrans stopping just make some z/p retire (except Jaedong he is a legend so we need to keep him) already. 80% of GM EU terrans are in the 170-200 range, almost no terran left to look up to. Skillwise there are enough left, but LOTV isn't balanced yet or the meta hasn't evolved enough. Therefore you can get cheesed down as terran, since terran play is much more preditable then for instance protoss play. It will take some time to figure the game out. Its like 2014 again, when no terran besides taeja and flash won premier tournaments and 90% of the wins were toss or zerg. This will be the case for the next 12-18 monts again, and then either the meta evolves finally or blizzard agrees that there have to be some changes.
Actually, in 2014 Terran won 12 premier tournaments and Protoss won 15. Terran had 13 second place finishers, and Protoss had 13 as well. Zerg won 8 with 9 second place finishers. So to say that 90% of the tournaments were won by the two other races is completely false because two races should win more than one race, and Terran won three less than Protoss.
It is sad that Fantasy is retiring especially sense this year was a very good one for him, but he's been doing this for so long, and many pros do not make it as long as he did. And for those who whine about the WCS system, Blizz has changed it every single year since 2012.....if something's wrong with this system, I suspect they'll change it as well. I imagine the region lock is to foster growth in the foreign scene. Cause right now, it's tough getting into the foreign scene knowing that there is not the system in place like it is in Korea.

First, Little Monster; now, FanTaSy
Nothing lasts forever, alas.
Thanks for the memories Fantasy

We also know KeSPA cup will be at some point.
