This is a perfect example of what is wrong with People/Holywood Hype has been making people buy shit for a long time now and in different media. EA games and Ubisoft lives on selling hype instead of good games and recently Bethesda has started doing same. So it is no wonder that movies industry has now moved to same model. Old saying "Fools and their money are easily parted" has not been around for a long time for not reason.

This is a perfect example of what is wrong with People/Holywood It tugs at our nostalgia, just seeing a new Star Wars with the old actors is enough to justify me buying my ticket for opening day. Or lets take the FF7 remake, Just watching and seeing what I have I will be preordering that game because there is a special place inside me for these things I love. At the end of the day it's just a movie like the 100s that come out every year. I just want and hope this one will be special because of the significance it has on me. I can only speak for myself but This why there is hype this is the reason for 100 million in presales. Star Wars baby.

Because even if the last movie/reboot/remake was just barely "ok" (or even absolutley horrible like every Transfomers after the first one), People will eat the shit anyway. (Not saying new SW has to be shit, trailers looked decent) FF7 is another Story. There you actually know what you will get and it would need them to forcefully fuck it up.

Big big spoilers ahead : + Show Spoiler + No seriously, big ones : + Show Spoiler + You still sure ? + Show Spoiler + So, The music is obviously Star Wars level of good, thanks John Williams, he can make boing to the bathroom some epic event, I liked the new MCs, they give some fresh air and are definitly better than the 2nd trilogy (bar McGregor because he's cool). The scenario is really imaging the OT in my opinion, while updating it, making it better imho. Fuck Kilo Ren. HAN SOLO FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RIP IN PIECE I LOVED YOU FUCK YOU KILO REN YOU PIECE OF SHIT Some deus ex machina were a bit annoying, but i'm ok with that. FUCK YOU KILO REN The cinematography was terrific, like the huge star destroyer destroyed in the desert, or when dozens of X Wings came to help above the water. The choregraphies were okayish I guess, less dance dance revolution like the 2nd trilogy, and it make sens since appart from Kilo, noone is traning to be a Ninja yet, and Kilo is more of a Berserker Btw, I preordered it because I really wanted to see it, and I knew that I wouldn't get a decent experience if I don't watch the pre-release. Especially because I didn't want to get spoiled, and I like to be able to threat people of spoiling them is they annoy me :D

Not everyone is an elitist that watch movie because #deepthough #meaningaboveenjoyment. I go to the theater to pass a good moment, and a Furious or the New Independence Day might just do that, sorry if I like big explosions or huge battleship and dogfights.

This is a perfect example of what is wrong with People/Holywood Sorry to disappoint your elitist tastes about movies. Not everyone is a fucking artist that need some... I don't even know what you need. Everyone spitting on the PT are like old people, "t'was better in the good ol'days"... I actually liked PT. It was not the best movies I ever saw, but it was far from the worst. I can be nitpicking on some subjects, but cinema is not really something I watch to get some profound thinking... Especially american's blockbusters. Just pick a book if you want to do that.

I saw it today. I'm extremely disappointed, for multiple reasons that I'll probably develop later. I'm in shock at how bad it was, honestly.

The movie has its flaws, but it's way better than the prequels and probably even on par with ANH. There is one bigger flaw apparently but as far as i can tell it shouldn't be the end of the world. So i am kinda surprised by kwizach's opinion atm.

No I already bought tickets like a month ago. Seeing Luke Skywalker on screen again was good enough for me. I think I am gonna shed a tear when that happens as I trully love the OT
