how was the series tho? great. Hilarious at times, and good micro and mindgames from both sides. 1 good game and the rest was shitty all-ins Shitty but entertaining. That's better than most finals, if not than most series. it was really boring lol, don't tell me you are entertained by 7gates, immortal all-ins and abysmall DT rush attempts It may be because it's almost 3am, but at least 7gates deliver some action. Plus, they were no usual 7gates : we had a 7g post-Tempest rush and a 7g post-banebust defense. the Tempest game was the only that salvaged this series
The series had some sick moments. That throw with the sentry/immortal and all those times life was nibbling on the walls were pretty entertaining. Game 1 by sOs was just kind of well executed all through it and yeah the D&T game. The rest were just build order wins being ridden home start to end.

I'm fairly sure the ladders will be reset for LotV, just as they were for the HotS release, and as the ladder is locked at the moment there's literally no point to using your pool ;p

Haven't watched much sc2 this year but this blizzcon was dope! Can't wait for LotV!

I don't understand how people enjoyed this series, there was what 6 cheeses/allins in total?

Zerg fans, is this more or less heartbreaking than JD's loss? I felt a little worse for JD because he was so much better in a straight macro game. In this, both players were cheesing all over, so it's hard to feel bad for bullshit losses. JD lost macro games against sOs Revisionist history...
To be fair, that game started out standard into JD getting a huge lead, and sOs only able to come back because he could easily secure 4 bases on Akilon and turtle it out while JD (or Zerg) just didn't have any tools to break it, which was an extremely frustrating loss. That was followed up by a double cannon rush making it just heartbreaking. JD felt like the underdog playing the tournament of his life, getting second places the entire year, only to be beat down in the most savage way imaginable.
Life stood toe to toe with sOs and matched wits, creating an amazingly intense back-and-forth series full of action that was a true pleasure to watch as a spectator. The feeling of pure joy I have watching this series as it unfolded is way stronger than the sadness that Life lost game 7. While it's sad for Life he couldn't win back-to-back, it doesn't feel as heartbreaking as watching JD's chance of winning slowly slipping away for 30 minutes while he tries everything to break sOs.

Winning such a prize 3 times? Can't be just luck that's not really true, majority of the series life was trying to respond sos' bullshit, in the last game he rushed and sos won 4-3, that's not that clearly sos being better, it was a very close series... they were pretty evenly matched and no game went to the lategame. we can try to pretend this was a great series but in truth it was a cheesefest and the master cheeser king of #protoss won with mindgame and cheese. We clearly did not watch the same games. I'm so bummed that some people only think about sOs like some Mind game specialist / cheesed. Like seriously, have you seen all these clutch micro decisions and all ? The dude is a beast They both were/ are

If you take games 1 by 1 with some basic analysis, then it becomes so bad, i kinda wish i was watching 2013 Blizzcon finals instead.

Ok, I'm out for today, it's getting late here. GG to both players and thanks for the games! Congratz to sOs! And thanks for the LR'ing, always a pleasure to be here, although I didn't have too much time in the last few months. See you all on tuesday, when we continue to send HotS of in the EPS LR .

Watching this series was watching two pairs of planet-sized balls continuously slamming into each other.
It was a test of masculinity and willpower.

No marines, medivacs, widow mines, drops, mech. Only real units like Roaches and Roaches, and real MU like ZvZ, PvP and PvZ. And as always, I will contribute as only I know how to contribute.
This tournament would have been at least 40% more fun with Bomber. Alas, the story would not be so this time. Thanks.
