It's just that Mvp has 4 GSLs Well if Life wins this will be his third, right? Nah, his second, the other one was a kespa/hot6-cup. Well one of Mvps' was world championship so Yes, but a GSL World Championship. Mvp's and Zests GSL WC count on the LP Page and afaik they got stuff from GSL as well (Mvp could have had a G5L trophy, so it seems to count). Kespa/hot6 are high level korean tournaments, but no "official" GSL's. Just like SSL/OSL. 2012 GSL Blizzard Cup Did MMA ever get a 2nd badge though? Are you sure? If that is true, someone should probably update the LP page(here), because that is only listing MC and Zest as double GSL champions. If we consider Life/MMA as double GSL champions as well, that might change something on various GOAT-lists.

If Zest's "GSL" Global Championship counts then MMA and Life should be up there as well for winning the GSL Blizzard Cup. Makes no sense for one to count and not the other.
Anyway, in the whirlwind of disappointing Starcraft results that have been the past few days, this is my beacon of hope. Yay Life!

It's format makes it unique and that is why it is given more weight than weekend events.
However I think we should at least be consistent if we're going to do it this way :D

Okay, so:
Mvp - 3 NesTea - 3 MC - 2 Life and everyone else - 1 (now has chance to have 2)
Things that don't count are: Blizzard/Hot6ix cup events at the end of the year Super tourney/global tourney and gsl world championship
Correct?

Until he even gets to the RO4 of a premier he shouldn't be anywhere near top 5 lists. Maru and Inno are definitely higher than herO as well. Dark made it to Ro4 for IEM Katowice.
I was thinking Korean tournaments but point taken. Look at what happened in the tournament though. He looked unbeatable in the ZvT's leading up to the quarter finals where he died to Trap. I'm not saying the talent isn't there but the hype train is too much for someone who doesn't have the results to show for it.

Imo the Supertournament should count. It was a huge tournament, not one of the "win 3rounds and you are a finalist" things. It started with the Ro64 and the qualification to enter it was to be Code A/S. So for all purposes of difficulty it was compareable to Code S.

Just made a completely arbitrary point system to rate Premier Tournament achievements and then went through it for Life and Mvp. Life is at 5.95 with 0.75 or 1 more (=6.7 to 6.95 points) depending how this GSL finals goes. Mvp is at 7.7, hence still the greatest by like 1 more GSL finals. Unless of course there is someone greater, e.g. Taeja (dat Liquid-biased point system ) or MMA.

I used to do that aswell, and then make a ranking of players for a single year. Top 10 11/12/13. But I didn't ranked them all the same. It wen't something like:
T1 - GSL T2 - everything with over 75k prize pool T3 - everythinh with 25k-75k prize pool
And I also managed to squeeze proleague and gstl in there. ^_^

Yeah, pretty much something like that.
So with this gsl Life beats TaeJa. Final rankings 1.) Mvp 7.7 2.) Life (6.7-~7) 3.) TaeJa ~6.3

Hm, maybe I will refine this algorithm and make a blog with a longer list...
