The StarLeague will be rescheduled if necessary to accomodate the players attending both Katowice and NSSL. |

Just ask X "experts" to rank them 1-16, give points for each place and look at the end results. I think it would be pretty good. In a perfect world the wcs ranking would be exactly that. Ok so i actually wanna try this. Anybody who thinks he knows enough about this can pm me with the list. Rank the players from 1-16. First will get 16 points, etc. If there are enough lists (i will do one too) i will post the end results in this thread as well. I assume the rules mentioned in the topic do not apply.
Seeds 1-4 - The four Intel Extreme Masters Season 9 winners Seeds 5-8 - The four Intel Extreme Masters Season 9 runners-up Seeds 9-14 - The six players that went through the online qualifier without a loss Seeds 15-16 - The two players that won the third place deciders in the Korean and European online qualifiers
The top seed will play seed 16, seed 2 will play seed 15 and so on and so forth in this pattern until all seeds are paired. The only restriction in place was that no Season 9 Intel Extreme Masters winner could meet his respective final opponent before the grand final of this grid.
To continue the quote's explanation, the seeds are placed into the bracket like this: + Show Spoiler +1 vs 16 9 vs 8
4 vs 13 12 vs 5
2 vs 15 10 vs 7
3 vs 14 11 vs 6 .
If those rules won't apply, then Life and INnoVation will not meet at Ro16 because most would seed both of them in top8 at least (meaning they could meet on Ro8 the earliest).

I would like to have lists from people who think they can rate the players at leats somewhat objectively. 1-16, every place gets points and at the end we will hopefully have an pretty objective list. As i said before, in a perfect world the wcs system would already be the perfect seeding system, IF all players would be able to play in every tournament, etc. But cause that isn't really the case i think "experts" doing the seeding wouldn't be that bad either. So again, if you think you are able to produce a 1-16 list for this event, just pm me and i will collet the results and post them here if i get enough data (so far i got one )

not sure what you are trying to accomplish here Viper... Letting humans, which are biased by nature, decide the seeding of a tournament will never guarantee a fair result. Using an arbitrary seeding is perhaps unfair skillwise and uninteresting for the viewers, but at least it doesn't give any player any advantage because he is liked more than the others.
Ofc the human made seeding can produce amazing matches and thus help viewership tho

uh, because Katowice is the season final, so it's prerty normal to seed player who won tournaments of this season...

All star line up omg !!
All 8 matches are going to be gr8. Fantasy vs Rain o: !!!!!

having not really followed sc2 too closely for a while now this looks really dumb to me tbh. you're gonna fly out 16 people from the same city all the way across the world to play out their tournament? just seems kinda silly

Hey, they get 1000$ just for SHOWING UP lol, 2000 extra bones if they win that first BO5. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me !!
Group play is boring; single elimination every match counts exciting.

I also think this brings much more hype! Yeah, it sucks to be out after one bo5 but it also allows players time to prepare for their first opponent (and not have to set up for a whole group) while also knowing who they might face later on.

Well as i said before, i think the wcs points should be used for seeding, but in reality this doesn't work cause we have different regions and not every player can actually play in every tournament. So i actually think that "experts" could be reasonable objective to not just vote for players they like I just am kinda sad that we have a very likely finals in the first round. (Life vs Inno) On the other had we have Fantasy vs Rain or Zest vs Hydra (it hurts to say, but Zest is probably not a big favorite..)

that the two sides of the bracket are not even and that is Red Viper's point. Brackets should be well balanced.

I wouldn't call it a "joke side", but it is pretty clear that one side is stronger than the other overall. But yeah i guess people don't really look at it like that :D

Which is the stacked side?

herO, Innovation, Life, Zest - You have the top4 players of 2014 in one side of the bracket.
