Never heard of metlife and won't look them up. My major impact from the CM. It was well done though.

It's usually weapon and security companies that base their advertising on the tragic consequences of not buying their products or services. Insurance companies are typically focused on giving you a sense of comfort and tend to focus more on the "accidents happen, but we're there to make everything alright" type of advertising. This ad. basically says to financially struggling single parents that they are clumsy, lying scum who hurt their children with false hope and fake smiles. Secondly, it says that instead of spending the little money they have making their children happy, they should spend it on insurance products in case they die. What you can conclude from this message is that their children are better off with their poor parents dead. I call bullshit on this advert and any like it.

Even if it wasn't a commercial, it is extremely shallow - it literally presents fake material well-being over honesty towards immediate family. If anything, such uprising does the girl a disservice by 1) spoiling her by providing her comfort that is not sustainable, 2) showing her completely wrong moral values and 3) throwing away the small money he has for show instead of saving them for her future. Small children from poor families are not automatically less happy, particularly if they are not regularly exposed to higher standards and thus have no concept of "missing on something". Being poor isn't actually that great. Not having proper clothes, being unable to participate by going out with friends when the activities cost too much, being teased or isolated generally for the above. Kids can be pretty merciless. And shame at a young age is pretty horrible. Just because he doesn't buy her stuff wouldn't mean she isn't exposed to the higher standards of those around her. If they were poor and that was the status quo, I'd agree, so I see your point. But it looks like a pretty prosperous place in the ad. However, I agree that kids from poorer backgrounds aren't automatically less happy or living a deprived life. I don't think he's trawling for 5 star posts. On February 11 2015 03:49 dUTtrOACh wrote: It's too bad daddy's insurance policy won't be worth very much... It's unfortunate that daddy won't be able to afford to keep his policy going... It's even worse that anybody who calls himself a man would cry while watching this shit. This is pretty much the life of every single parent with no education. If I shed even one tear for every person telling lies to keep their children happy, I would drown before hitting 1%. Yeah you're right. Men shouldn't cry. How effeminate of them. Also, while it's less likely to get read, learn to write one post at a time rather than chaining three in a row.
