He didn't even move to siege the province of the independence fraction back that did break out of his own body. I had to manually assign the province as his target. My other subjects are not moving with me in peace, which is fine, cause in war they do... so confused. Is this just bugged or are there reasons? Its not bugged, there are no reasons. The vassal mechanics is just, well kind of terrible.

The AI is super derp from time to time.
Sometimes you can abuse it to beat a superior foe, sometimes it means your allies/vassals have their own idea of what winning a war implies.
I had an ally that literally decided to hunt tiny armies around with his 20.000 men despite my forces fighting a 50.000 vs 70.000 losing battle in the neighboring province. If he had at any point decided to help out it would have been a crushing victory due to terrain modifiers and generals. Instead it was a defeat, and the enemy forces cleaned up everything afterwards.
On the other hand I've had an enemy ignore my forces as they carpet sieged most of his provinces, and used all his armies to play whack-a-mole with mercenary regiments at the other side of Europe.
So yeah, the AI can be really derp sometimes.

Well its good when they do SOMETHING sometimes they just decide its good idea to chill their 70k army in home province doing nothing. But yeah, AI derps a lot.

yeah both the UI and the AI need a fix. All these new features are really nice and all but they're not that useful when the AI can barely use them effectively.

This has got to be one of the most stupidly addicting games I played in a long while!
How long does one game usually take you guys? I've "only" finished 4 runs (Castile, Baden (Germany), Tuscany(Italy) and Shiba (Japan)) and Steam says I'm closing in on 200h ^^;
Tuscany and Shiba were on ironman mode and especially the last game was super intense playing a colonial heavy Japan. At one point I was at war with a Portugal/Spain alliance, then France (dragging Scotland along) decided I need to be punished for no idea what and I was super stressed out already when one of my colonies decided it to be a great time to make me war leader in their little conquest vs Thirteen Colonies and then England was on board as well. No idea how I managed to win all 3 wars, I just remember it took forever (~15 years iirc), long enough to completely rebuild a fleet of 400ish ships. Fun times but quite taxing.
I'm still learning new stuff everytime and there are still quite a few things I don't fully understand like trade or personal unions but discovering new stuff seems like half the fun.
Any suggestions what I could be playing next (playing vanilla without any dlc)? Maybe any achievements that are fun to get?
Btw what does it mean by "conquer the world"? Own ALL provinces?

All colonized provinces need to be owned by You or one of Your subjects. So You dont need to control nonowned provinces.

You have to either own the provinces or a direct subject. So colonial nations, vassals and protectorates all count.

After trying Castille, Gujarat, Dai Viet, Utrecht it was time for an actual challenge. So I took Creek. Really interesting early game with the tribe mechanics. A bit of a boring part waiting for the first colonial powers to arrive. Afterwards I basically fought and won wars vs spain, portugal, england and france. This is the biggest totemist empire I've ever seen:

I'm playing my game as Sweden and built the Holstein canal
I'm wondering if it was really (or at all) worth it, it cost me a fuck ton of dip and adm points, also money but I have enough of it to not care about it
I don't really know how much it influences trade and that kind of stuff since I have a very superficial understanding of the game but it feels like it was only good to change the map a bit

canals really aren't worth it, you can't even restrict access through it.
today's lesson: the power of tech 15
worse units, worse general, worse cav combat ability, worse inf combat ability, outnumbered 2 to 1, but if you have 15 vs 14 you can still win...

Oh well, I still have a huge military tech advantage, just annoying that I am a bit slower to core provinces because of that

Not getting behind on military tech is surprisingly easy as a horde. I don't even use my NF on it.

Just won a huge coalition war against me (Austria, France, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Bohemia+a lot of smaller-middler size HRE etc nations vs me+commonwealth)
My armies are really op with 5 military ideas, 2 military policies, 3 star generals only etc
Decided that taking 27 provinces when I still didn't core some before due to the war and I only have 125k manpower left was a good idea
Wish me luck >.>
edit: aaaand I have 3 looming disasters when I was already at -1 stability

So, my plan was to go to Exploration 2 as India, get to europe, get a core next wo a western nation and westernise. Then lose exploration ideas and take something more useful. Then this happened.
I will probalby not pick exploration then... That's what you get for stop playing and going to bed...
Edit: It's 1471.

Sorry, cant tell from the picture what you are referring to.

The end of Golden Horde game. I already achived the goals i set for myself--->Turning the Tide and Grat Khan. On top of that i kinda accidentaly did Pile of Gold (thanks Ethiopia!).
As You can see its 1807 and i own directly 591 provinces. I am currently annexing Mameluks and Nepal. Also Dulkaldir, Ming, and Ning are ma vassals (Vassals, not protectorates, i cant annex them though-->too much AE). I am kinda wondering if i can rush over a 1000 achievment. After taking malwa, whats left of najd, and Ethiopia and finishing annexing i should be around 750+ provinces. I wonder if its feasible to war everyone but austria in europa (Imperialism) and annex them close to end of the game. I can take a lot of provinces from France, commonwealth, Sweden, dunno if i have time for sieging all those provinces though....
