Fabricate claim on Champagne, then ally Castile and Aragon and you should be able to beat France. If not at first, just keep throwing mercs at them using Dutch taxpayer's money, France will sooner or later run out of resources. AE is by far the biggest problem in my experience. If you find a way to dismantle France faster with less AE, please let me know. I took like 1 or 2 provinces without a claim that game and still got so much AE.

Thats a definition of AE-->working as intended. Other than using the idea from influence i dont think You can limit AE by a lot. I fed Guyenne cores and had claims on other provinces I took, etc., so it's not like I played reckless.. It's 1497 in that screenshot. If you actually wait for AE to decay the game wouldn't be fun in my eyes at all. Most of my European games end with the coalition becoming too big. For instance: you get a regency council for 15 years, now all different parts of the coalition, normally divided by truce timings, all join together. Anyway I just asked him to let me know if he finds a way to do it as fast with less AE ^^.

Also if you mismanage a war and because of that the war lasts too long and another group joins up it can be GG as well. I recently learned that you can declare on an OPM member of the coalition to peace out easily. If I knew that trick earlier I would have less issues. The screenshot in the post above is 3 months old .

There is a slim chance that Austria is not rivaled to you at the beginning, that way you can easily crush france with help from them and castille. in addition this removes most of the AE austria would get and you have one additional ally that protects you from the coalitions. also: declaring on one of france´s vassals oftentimes removes the "opinion to enemy"-factor or w/e it´s called, so you can get countries to join in that usally wouldn´t. Regarding MP: I´d love to play some, dunno about my schedule in march tho :/

Regarding the question with the coalitions, make sure you have an isolated opm in the coalition, declare on him, siege him down as fast as possible and you will be able to peace the whole coalition out after a very short while. Works great if you can pull it off. Today it almost backfired on me though, wanted to do the trick with taungoo, coalition wasn't too big, but ming with 2 military tech advantage over me was part of it. Ming rushed 50k troops down into indochina and directly into Taungoo :D Things suddenly looked pretty complicated, so only do it if you are sure you can pull it off in time, assault on the walls might be needed in some cases.

suggestions: -why not wait for the update coming out soon, then just have everybody use the nation builder and turn off the lucky nations thing? -a weekly game on the weekends is probably our best bet if we want to be inclusive of timezones
