If I moved my capital to Cyprus, that would work too right? Though Venice might be barred from moving capital out of Venice.
Would be too easy to just take one more province. You could be Iceland with no other European provinces other than Reykjavik. Take all of Egypt + one European province bordering the region and you're set, while technically it would still be leagues away from your home country.
About moving your capital: I don't know if a sea connection is enough, try it in a new game using the integrate cheat and see what happens.
Edit: continuing my old Aaragon into Byz game, the one where I got a lucky Castile PU.. I think I conquered 85% of what I currently own within the first 100 years of that game. Sometimes you blob fast and sometimes you're just messing around wasting ingame time :/.
Bbeing Orthodox is pretty cool, also 9 tolerance of the true faith with ~13% missionary strength means everything will be Orthodox, and once Orthodox you can just crank down autonomy whenever possible, revolt risk won't ever go above 0. Declared statute when I was still catholic for -1 revolt risk, pretty neat. The revolt risk in the pic is from nationalism.
Just finished a Timurids game barely passed France in score to steal first. Never westernized so couldn't push into europe even with overwhelming numbers and 125% discipline could barely overcome Poland much less a France or Austria. Spain was in a personal union under France and Russia was allied with Austria which really ruined most of my plans. No Mods, all expansions.
Anyone else having issues with the religious tolerance disaster thingy?
Playing as Portugal, took over England and a part of the Netherlands for the trade node, England has 3 centers of reformation, so I'm stuck between catholic Iberia and protestant England/Netherlands. I didn't take religious ideas for obvious reasons, so it's pretty much impossible to get to >90% religious unity. A different option to make it go away is to get humanist ideas, will be the next idea group I'll have to get I think.
But currently I get a nasty event very often that makes me choose between losing 35 monarch points of each type, or get 20k+ rebels on a random province with +1 revolt risk on every province I own. I barely get a net positive amount of admin points I think/hope.
Should have thought about this before I invaded England lol.
Converted to Protestant early, then Reformed was founded in London, then Scotland converted to Reformed and got a center. They've sinced integrated Scotland, so GB has 3 competing centers within itself, plus Catholic zealots converting everything back.
Ok course they aren't that effected, since London is converting provinces in south France instead of nearby...
Thoughts on Kingdom of God decision? Free cores are nice and the Curia is less reliable than it used to be, but it still feels weird to disable the papacy. I'm not quite there yet though, still a few hold outs in Milan.
I almost screwed myself when I took a ton of provinces in a coalition war but didn't give any to Austria. Got a -100 modifier for no provinces given in the peace, came pretty close to breaking that crucial alliance.

You can form Byzantium as Aragon? Didnt kn0w that this is possible...
I started a Byzantium game myself and almost removed the ottomans from the map and start expanding in Italy. The only problem I have is that I am soo far behind in technology but dont know if its worth westernizing now.

Yeah man, it's ridiculously easy to do. Day 1 ally Austria, declare on Ottos with Naple's CB, block strait, Austria + Naples + your army can kill whatever the Ottos have in the Balkan peninsula. Occupy everything you can get your hands on, while trying to get a CB on Byz. If you can't get a CB declare on them anyway, vassalize them, then use return Byz core on Ottos. You can then take Navarra or do something else while diplo vassalizing Urbino, you can feed them Italian cores, you'll fight Venice later to return Byz cores, they usually ally some italian opm.
Integrate Byz, Greek should be barely more dominant than Catalan, or else take Crete/Rhodes from Venice/Knights. Culture switch, switch your religion to Orthodox and you can form Byz and get an insane amount of cores everywhere that you don't get playing Byz the normal way. It's like a fast way to form Byzantium while staying western tech group and keeping Aragon and Naples. You're the same dynasty as Castile and they changed the historical rival setting, so a PU with Castile should be doable in due time.

ok nice. Is it possible with every nation to form them or is it just an aragon special?
I decided to westernize in my byzantium game now, I was so ridiculouly far behind. I dont really know how it happened I was even ~2 techs in all categories behind the other eastern civs. Guess because a couple of bad leaders. I even got the "die plz die" achievement :D

Every nation but the Ottomans as far as I know. As the turks you can still do it, but you'll need to form a different country like Romania first.
I got the purple phoenix dlc today since it was only like 1.5 euro on steam, instantly got like 1000 monarch points total from all the events you get for reclaiming the old byz empire territory lol. Also 3 decisions that give you 25 army tradition. I can use one of those each time I need to war France to top my army tradition off. Weird how I outnumber them 2:1 easily but still need to fight tooth to nail. Their morale and discipline are only slightly better. It's those sick generals, ideas and huge amount of mercs they can keep calling in I think.
trying for rajput reich achievement, really haven't had such a dicey start in a while. Fought a coalition war in 1450 already but rolling a three shock general the day before the critical battle won me the war.
My gf started playing this game and it looks like one of the most complex strategy games I've ever seen. I had a look at a Let's Play on youtube, and the first 15 minutes was just a history lesson
I gotta say though, EU4 has the most beautiful UI I've ever seen.

Big part of the game for me is just painting the map. The nation I play HAS to have the right color.
Trying to figure out who I wanna play now. I've played Burgundy, Russia, Ottoman, Scandinavia, Mongolian Empire... Might try out a German state or something.

How much time some people are willing to put into this game never stops to amuse me
Yeah, I'm looking at the time I spent (and spend) at video games in general and wonder what I could have done with my life instead. Someone as smart as DDRJake could do whatever he would want. Probably what he currently does. It's all good.
Trying to get the rather new Draculas Revenge Achievement. After countless of tries I finally managed to get into a solid position and formed Romania but since when is it so freaking hard to make money??
Question: Is moving my capital to a Bosporus province (atm: Ragusa) a smart choice? Do I have to move my trade center aswell?
Also does anybody know what conquer all of the balkans means exactly? What provinces do I need?
if you are only worried about tradeincome just move your trading port, no need to move the capital too.
For the balkans region just get the region mapmode up and it should tell you what you need, probably needs the regions western and eastern balkans I would suspect

Oh thanks didnt know about the regions mapmode. Balkan is bigger than I though...^^
Noticed in the ledger that Uzbek had the fourth largest army.. thought they somehow united the hordes, but still 80k dudes or something like that was a bit much for their tiny force limit. Then I thought, perhaps they just spawned and still got the rebel army. Then I zoomed in a little bit..
I present the biggest wtf ever, I swear I didn't cheat or edit anything.
Also finally got rid of the religious shizzle, parked enough troops to deal with the constant revolts until I managed to tech to humanist ideas.
