The only noticeable difference in an FPVOD is that if pros were using R, there would be fraction of a second between the moment R is pressed and the left click is pressed where the game waits for the player to set a rally point location, which doesn't occur when you using right click.

That's true, but for SCVS, you need to set the mining command before it starts constructing, otherwise it will not be registered. That has costed me so much mining time ...

That has costed me so much mining time ... I know, right? It messes me up all the time. SC2's made my mechanics so lazy that way. Another trap I fall into sometimes is in SC2 I will send my workers to mine gas a split second before the refinery finishes, and in SC2, they wait for the building to complete and then start mining. In BW, if you do that, your workers sit there for a minute before you facepalm yourself realizing why you have no gas.

I always have so many idle scvs late game because of it. So thankyou for pointing that out.

Did you guys know you can recall lockdowned units? You can do a full carrier attack right into a ghost trap and then simply recall them all to safety I didn't know this until a few days ago... There is a trivia thread from 2008 or so with a whole bunch of "did you know you can X" with a lot of interesting doable things in BW. I can't find it but maybe someone knows what I am talking about.

The best was the mass recall on carriers game where the interceptors weren't recalled and had to fly across the whole map. I think it was a Stork game.

Actually it wasn't always like that, they released that update around 1.09 or 1.10, i think it was the same time they fixed that drone flying gas bug. Old players (like me -_-) will still spam R key; click as a habit at the beginning of a game waiting for drones to pop out. edit : ho patch 1.12 as it had been said.

It was Kal vs flash on fighting spirit. I didn't know you can queue patrol commands until i played sc2 and then tried it in bw

That moment was hilarious. They get shot and half of them die on the journey across the map. Happened to me in a couple UMS games years and years ago as well. I also didn't know you could queue up mining until opening this thread either though.
