I don't know how you can say I didn't do a good enough job of not getting replaced when I didn't get replaced. I watched the stream until I knew my match was next. I turned it off and went to b.net and waited. I checked my e-mail a few times while I waited. I triple-checked that non-friends could message me. I kept an eye on Destiny's status on my friend's list. And I had no good reason to think that they couldn't contact me as soon as they wanted to. They had collected my username and character code. The way I behaved was pretty foolproof. I take no blame whatsoever. The issue is that it took the very last (and unusual) measure to prevent me from getting replaced: joining a Real ID friend's lobby that I wasn't invited to.
Anyway, I'm done talking about this. This betrayal is fucking depressing.
MaSa had me outplayed with that opening on those maps. Nice build. WP and gl

What the fuck is going on in this thread? What happened? Didn't all the games get played out?

Whoa, what seemed like crossed wires on communications has blown up. Wouldn't like to think that Catz and Destiny would purposely try and screw you over Nony. Live on stream it looked like they were genuinely having trouble finding you. In any case the are both sharp enough to realise replacing you with a Root player would get the pitchforks out in some description.
That second-to-last sentence in your final post seems a bit rough given how much people care about you. I've rarely (if ever) seen you make flippant remarks about that sort of stuff, and I'd image that Catz and Destiny would feel pretty shit about that kind of reaction.
edit: meant to add good on you for your message to Masa and the gg/wp in spite of the hoo haa. Like Destiny said lots of us were keen to watch you play bro!

I mean... couldn't you just message them first if you were waiting all that time and didn't receive a response? Not to be TOO rude here, but you sound like the average woman waiting for the man to make the first attempt. If you said you saw him on real ID, and you see he's not in a match, just speak up and message him. That's what I would have done at least. Regardless, they saw their error and corrected it.
EDIT: not average woman, stereotypical

Was really really rooting for NonY super hard and was crushed when he lost, but this borderline delusional theory of his is really depressing to witness. Well..at least some drama happened to improve this pitiful LR.
|
It's not really that depressing, it's just a series of unfortunate mistakes from both sides.
Nony: obviously they know im here, i'm on their god damn friends list... all they have to do is invite me
Admins: we messaged him on things that are not the game, but he's not responding... must be afk.
it's perfectly reasonable for Nony to be upset about it, and understandable that the mistake was made... but it shouldn't have been made. I also doubt it will be made again!

I really don't see the issue here. NonY wasn't able to be contacted, then he came ingame and it was all good. He chose his maps and played the games.
Watching the stream it really didn't look malicious.
But now after he lost he's complaining after the fact? And apparently everyone is against him? That's some paranoid delusional talk right there.
They wanted you there NonY, it was a misunderstanding, nothing more. You're being pretty immature / unreasonable here.

Then it's a lot of he said this and he said that so who knows. We weren't there so we dont really know

Try telling him that. Everyone's out to get him... >.>

Why does it always seem like Nony has these problems finding his opponents in tournaments? It seems like every time I see Nony is in a tournament, I see him posting in the LR about how bad of an experience it was and how hard it is to contact the admins, or his opponent or this or that....
I know you're depressed man but, damn dude, you just seem like you enjoy making a scene and bashing on tournament organizers like they're out to get you...

i honestly hope this is the last time i see nony in a tournament

Why would you say that? He had close games against MaSa in both series, nony had a really good chance to advance.

who cares about his chance to advance way too much bullshit from him

I would avoid this if I were them. Almost no positive to commenting on this, which is unfortunate, because it would be really interesting to read what they have to say.
Sucks for you Tyler, but you did play well, at the very least. You definitely showed some good games last night.

Vods don't seem to be up, even from day 1. Would like to see some of the games before the next stage of the tournament begins, catching them live is a little brutal for EU.

This sounds like a complete misunderstanding with the Nony situation. I know that everyone in our giant group tournament planning skype was trying to contact him. There was never any hidden agenda to replace him, we invited him because he is a big personality so it is definitely not in our best interests to conspire against him.
Let's move on, it is not that big of a deal.

While moving on is probably the smartest thing to do, I think it isn't necessarily that easy for NonY to just drop it and forget it. Clearly he is upset about the way it was handled, and could have affected his play in his last match. I think maybe contacting CatZ or Destiny and trying to get them to apologize/explain themselves to NonY might help everyone move past this in an adult manner.
If it isn't their fault and instead is on admin, why not just do the same and talk to him in a direct, private manner and explain the situation, apologize on the handling, and then suggest moving on? Seems like the "bigger" man way to handle the situation, especially when one of your invited players in pretty clearly upset.
Even if it was just a misunderstanding and NonY is over reacting, it would be a smart PR move to stop him from complaining and getting people to stop talking about the issue.

Depends on the actual situation of course. If there wasn't a slight or mistake on the admins side, then they should not apologize. In addition, Nony doesn't have the highest credibility anyways when it comes to this stuff.

I don't know how people possibly place blame on me or can have an ounce of respect for anyone who claims to be looking for me and failed to find me when I'm on b.net the whole time and they have my b.net info and one guy already has me on his friends list and nobody emailed me (the only method of contact we had been using, to which I'd been responsive all week).
I mean... couldn't you just message them first if you were waiting all that time and didn't receive a response? I could have, but I wasn't in a rush and I wasn't aware there was a problem. It was specifically because of my rough history with online tournament organization that I didn't want to be a bother. I was patient and focused on my matches. I got all my ducks in a row and was trying to behave perfectly so that I wouldn't sabotage myself with some distraction. I absolutely could not fathom that these guys don't know how to contact someone via b.net and I still can't fathom it, which is why I'm convinced it was malicious, not negligent.
Maybe my self-esteem is just that low but I find it infinitely easier to believe that they seized an opportunity to fuck me over than to believe that they don't know how to work b.net's friends list and messaging system.
edit: As far as "smart PR moves" and staying quiet and hiding negative emotions, fuck you selfish people. Some people enjoy learning about what's going on and how people are feeling. Some people don't like how little interaction public figures actually have with the public. If you can't let those people enjoy what they enjoy and let me provide it to them without chiming in with some self-righteous judgmental bullshit, then just fuck you. Live and let live. Nobody is forcing you to read this shit. If you don't like what you're reading, read something else. Nobody cares that you're not enjoying it.
