OGN has accommodated Casy as much as they could, and they have come to terms with the team Casy most wanted to go to, WeMade Fox (old Pantech EX)
The terms were: 50,000,000 Won in transfer fee. OGN decided to only take 30,000,000 won from WeMade. The remaining 20,000,000 will be added to Casy's salary at WeMade. This is to allow Casy to sign with WeMade at a salary level that he had hoped for when he first asked to be traded back in June.
OGN say that all along they were wishing to trade Casy for another player, seeing as how Casy was their ace and it would reflect on Sparkyz poorly to simply sell their best player through a transfer. They had reached out to 8 teams, but could not find a deal to their liking. They were also in talks with the Air Force about the possibility of Casy joining ACE.
Ultimately, seeing as how Casy was virtually unable to further play at Sparkyz, OGN decided to go ahead with a transfer anyway.
Casy will be present for the WeMade Fox launch ceremony on Sep. 11, and will be able to participate in the upcoming proleague.
- How does it feel now that you have moved teams?
▲ Nothing really comes to mind. More than anything else I'm relieved that I can continue to game at a place where I will be happy. The fans who were concerned for me also come to mind.
- You must have gone through a lot.
▲ It was very difficult but I think I also grew that much. I learned a lot through this experience, and I know for sure what I truly want to do in my life. I want to consider everything to be experiences. In the end, things turned out all right so I want to maintain a positive outlook to whatever lies ahead.
- You said you prefered to go to WeMade; why?
▲ The largest factor was wanting to start anew. WeMade was also going through a new start, so I wanted to feel as if we were going through a new beginning together. Also, I've always liked Nada, and I'm friends with several WeMade players as well.
- Is there anything you would like to say to OGN Sparkyz and coach Lee Myung-Geun.
▲ Nothing in particular. First, I had no problems with any of my teammates so it's sad and unfulfilling to part with them in this manner. We're on different teams now but I hope we can still wish the best for each other. There's nothing I can say to Coach Lee, who has come under a lot of criticism because of me. I'm very sorry. I hope we can both work hard at what we do, and show each other our good sides. And I want to especially put in a word of thanks for Cloud. Today's Casy is only here because Cloud has been there for me since long ago. I can never forget Cloud, who has taught me so much as a gamer, and as a big brother.
- The fans showed much caring and encouragement.
▲ I am truly grateful to the fans. Before the situation ended this way, I had no way to repay them so I felt very frustrated. But now the chance has come. Of course, as a progamer, there's only one way to repay my fans; through my play, so I will work hard. Maybe not tomorrow, but I will practice harder than anyone and show the fans a good Casy as soon as possible.
- Any words as you start over on a new team?
▲ I'm so happy to have found new targets. When I first joined KOR (now Sparkyz) I had the goal of becoming better than Cloud and Zeus. Now, at WeMade, I have Nada to catch up to. I want to learn a lot and someday be a player who can compete with him.
translator's note: that interview was very Casy in tone and spirit. OGN with a sudden change of attitude after FiFo and Fomos report on Casy's situation - power of media and fans? Only OGN knows the truth for sure.
