OGN has accommodated Casy as much as they could, and they have come to terms with the team Casy most wanted to go to, WeMade Fox (old Pantech EX)
The terms were: 50,000,000 Won in transfer fee. OGN decided to only take 30,000,000 won from WeMade. The remaining 20,000,000 will be added to Casy's salary at WeMade. This is to allow Casy to sign with WeMade at a salary level that he had hoped for when he first asked to be traded back in June.
OGN say that all along they were wishing to trade Casy for another player, seeing as how Casy was their ace and it would reflect on Sparkyz poorly to simply sell their best player through a transfer. They had reached out to 8 teams, but could not find a deal to their liking. They were also in talks with the Air Force about the possibility of Casy joining ACE.
Ultimately, seeing as how Casy was virtually unable to further play at Sparkyz, OGN decided to go ahead with a transfer anyway.
Casy will be present for the WeMade Fox launch ceremony on Sep. 11, and will be able to participate in the upcoming proleague.
- How does it feel now that you have moved teams? ▲ Nothing really comes to mind. More than anything else I'm relieved that I can continue to game at a place where I will be happy. The fans who were concerned for me also come to mind.
- You must have gone through a lot. ▲ It was very difficult but I think I also grew that much. I learned a lot through this experience, and I know for sure what I truly want to do in my life. I want to consider everything to be experiences. In the end, things turned out all right so I want to maintain a positive outlook to whatever lies ahead.
- You said you prefered to go to WeMade; why? ▲ The largest factor was wanting to start anew. WeMade was also going through a new start, so I wanted to feel as if we were going through a new beginning together. Also, I've always liked Nada, and I'm friends with several WeMade players as well.
- Is there anything you would like to say to OGN Sparkyz and coach Lee Myung-Geun. ▲ Nothing in particular. First, I had no problems with any of my teammates so it's sad and unfulfilling to part with them in this manner. We're on different teams now but I hope we can still wish the best for each other. There's nothing I can say to Coach Lee, who has come under a lot of criticism because of me. I'm very sorry. I hope we can both work hard at what we do, and show each other our good sides. And I want to especially put in a word of thanks for Cloud. Today's Casy is only here because Cloud has been there for me since long ago. I can never forget Cloud, who has taught me so much as a gamer, and as a big brother.
- The fans showed much caring and encouragement. ▲ I am truly grateful to the fans. Before the situation ended this way, I had no way to repay them so I felt very frustrated. But now the chance has come. Of course, as a progamer, there's only one way to repay my fans; through my play, so I will work hard. Maybe not tomorrow, but I will practice harder than anyone and show the fans a good Casy as soon as possible.
- Any words as you start over on a new team? ▲ I'm so happy to have found new targets. When I first joined KOR (now Sparkyz) I had the goal of becoming better than Cloud and Zeus. Now, at WeMade, I have Nada to catch up to. I want to learn a lot and someday be a player who can compete with him.
translator's note: that interview was very Casy in tone and spirit. OGN with a sudden change of attitude after FiFo and Fomos report on Casy's situation - power of media and fans? Only OGN knows the truth for sure.
This is good news. WeMade seems to be pretty generous with their investments so far. In my opinion, it's the power of the fans that really made OGN change. They really went nuts over it. I guess the real story behind the Casy and coach debate will remain shrouded.
i'm impressed by seeing that shoutout to cloud. singling him out like that shows how close they must have been.
that really shows the power of the media though... i doubt the timing would be coincidence. the reason they gave before about reflecting poorly on sparkyz -- nothing had changed since then except it no longer reflecting as poorly after everybody knew about it.
Having Rock as a practice partner may indeed be beneficial. Rock has really strong macro even if he often loses units carelessly. This may force Casy to change his TvP style. The Protoss practice partners on OGN Sparkyz just weren't as strong at macro.
That's really good news! Thx for translation honesttea!
What casy has to do now is work work work. He's in a team with the greatest player of all time. His TvP was allways a problem. Now he can start again, learn and practice. This would really make me happy if he shows good results for WeMade. Even tough he's not my fav player, it will be interessting to see how his new team will influence him for a new/better playstyle.

- they're still both terrans ;P
I can think of few situations where CaSy would be more useful than NaDa.
It is, however, better that they have two ace-level players. NaDa won't have to win twice every proleague match now.
It would be useful vs Z or even T, because then they can save NaDa for a P. Anyways WeMade (god I like Pantech so much more) is not very deep anyways, so adding a recent OSL winner definitely helps.
A weird situation gets an equally weird resolution. I'll bet Casy starts to suck ass after this trade. I'm calling it now, so get ready to quote this post and call me a genius come next year.
woot, casy's not my favorite player, but i'm really glad that things worked out the way they did... the media and his fans really responded in this situation... pretty touching =)
good it's much better for casy to get a new team rather than join the army
i am kind of curious though, if all OGN get's is money it seems a really crappy deal for them, i mean it's not as if there are casy-calibre free agents lying around ? i hope ogn can recover from this void in their roster.. i guess they will because other teams have to cope with losing players to the army
that's great news! after this interview i love casy even more! "I want to consider everything to be experiences. In the end, things turned out all right so I want to maintain a positive outlook to whatever lies ahead." - that's good thinking

Thanks for the info HonestTea.
I'll take you up on that bet, i say with trying to impress his new team and partners, he will do much better than before.
