A great animated video breaking down subatomic physics and the large hadron collider/higgs boson. Mass is a characteristic of a particle like charge? Way over my head.

It really puts it into perspective for me how small (and big, compared to some things) we really are in the grand scheme of things. Fun facts: the international space station is about the size of a football field and central park is bigger than vatican city (by about 8 times).

This is kind of just mesmerizing to look at for a minute. So much on the east coast and so little in the rockies.

Talk about having a cool hobby. The lighting of the first picture on the bridge in Edinburgh is amazing. There's something romantic about exploring these lonely and abandoned places. The lightning in the last picture is serene.
