I saw an old blog post by LosingID8 on different types of Asian music, and I kinda liked the idea of trying to spread out and advertise for what maybe underground and unknown artists that you may appreciate, whether the genre be rap, hip-hop, techno, metal, asian, etc. Purpose of blogs like these is basically to spread out the joy of listening to your certain type of music.
So, I will try daily to update with a different song, which I'll put up a link to a streaming sample or a music video or something LEGAL like that, never will I put up a link to the song or album on something like rapidshare or megaupload, so don't ask me. I condemn anything like that, so please don't do anything like that, if you like the song, buy it and support the artists. But after I find a streaming sample/video, I'll try putting up lyrics, and my opinion on why this track/artist is in this blog.
OK, so for me, I'm gonna try and bring out the genre of underground hip-hop to the masses (kind of ironic, but oh well). Just in case if you need examples, it'll be artists like Jurassic 5, Common, Mos Def, Lyrics Born, K-Otix, Five Deez, Talib Kweli, The Roots, and etc. It's basically more poetic, artistic, and meaningful, in my opinion, than what the "hip-hop" and "rap" they play on the radio (you'll soon find out that I hate mainstream stuff like that). But please don't bash on my taste in music or others people taste, you don't see me flaming on your love for the new christina aguilera track.
Speaking of which, feel free to set up your own blog and post up with your favorite genre, whether it be death metal, rap, techno, asian, whatever, I'm willing to listen with open ears, and I encourage anybody willing to do it, to do it, cause music plays a big part in my life, and probably in everybody's life so why not make life more enjoyable?
I'll type up a new blog post once I hear some feedback, and once i figure out how to delete the 2nd blog... -.-

I have just posted this in another thread, but its been my favorite mix for about 6 months, and I would love to share it with as many people as possible [Genre->Electronic->Minimal/Techhouse]:
STEPHAN BODZIN @ Kiosk - Lille (11.11.06) (save target as..) 163 MB - 143 minutes of bliss
Bodzins mixing is emaculate and the music is just plain evil, the man is a fuckin demon - Im convinced..
EDIT: Might I recomend changing the title to something like "Introduction to music" because as is it seems more like your going to be talking about yourself which i think would get less hits perhaps..
EDIT EDIT: Just to alleviate your concerns about legality, this mix was played and recorded live at the venue itself and it was even featured on bodzins website for several months, perfectly legal to download. So please dont hesitate to give it a listen Its meant for everyone to enjoy

But I ran into Five Deez while listening to Nujabes and Shing02, (theyre japanese hiphop artists/djs/producers that are into jazz infused hiphop which I really dig) but theyre a hiphop group thats pretty much into chill lyrics, their tone and voices are pretty relaxing, down and slow, a lot of their beats are like neojazz beats and i think its pretty cool. But if you want to check em out, I'd suggest checking out Nujabes or Kero One first for that type of music.

But i was thinking that each person take up a genre and make up their own blog post, because I think itd get too hectic with multiple people posting on the same thread, so hard to find a good link in a splew of comments.
And thanks to mr admin who deleted that extra blog

Listen to Blu and Exile : Beneath The Heavens. I am gonna force you. His emcee technique is very nice. Production is good but repetitive, but really good.
So do it.
