Xavier Henry played amazing in this game, no doubt about it; but I'm hesitant to get excited about him just yet until he does what he did today on with a semblance of consistency, if he can then holy crap I'm gonna be excited.

Pau and Nash running together healthy is sure to be worth a few highlights. There's also Kobe's return, just seeing him back on the court is going to be worth a bit to me also. Also I know it's preseason which is why I prefaced everything I said with "If." Obviously there's a lot of uncertainty with this team and obviously there's a lot of well deserved speculation for how well they could be capable of playing, but that doesn't bother me so much. After the nightmare that was last season, I'm just looking forward to moving on and hopefully seeing my team play without all of the injuries or drama that weighed the fans down last year.

It's somewhat ironic that the Lakers will most likely be worse than last year though. They won't be too bad on offence actually I think (especially if Kobe makes it back by Chrissy). But they will just be laughably bad on defence. I can't see one guy in that squad who I'd even call an average defender. They'll be close to the league's worst defence.

If last season was any indication, you never know what may happen between now and April. Injuries might plague the west so hard that the Lakers get the 4-5th seed. You simply do not know. What I do know is the Lakers are a deeper and more cohesive unit than last year with a full training camp and a healthy roster this time around. That already makes us a better team than what we ended last season with.

Do Laker peeps really think X Henry and Nick Young have all this latent potential just waiting to be plucked out by the gold and purple jersey? The Lakers are far worse than last year. Far worse.
