the Raptors should intentionally tank and get Wiggins first over all.

Coach Casey should stare straight into the camera every week and say "its all about development. we are developing our younger players and experimenting with some new sets to make our players well rounded basketball players"

to get things started, 2 topics of debate

Miami Heat Salary Situation
http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/MIA.html
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/ian_thomsen/12/06/sixth-man-nba-cba-nicolas-batum/index.html
http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1196156
Depending on where the luxury tax level is made, the heat could be looking at over $110 million in salary + tax payments just for the next season.

Rivers to Clippers
http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/boston_celtics / http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/los_angeles_clippers
This probably not going to happen but deal will be something like rivers + kg for deandre + 2 first rounders + cash

and regarding wiggins, please be on the lookout for probably 3/4 of the entire league tanking for a chance to score wiggins. be prepared for one of the worst nba seasons in the past decade.

the raptors can turn him into more money than every team except LA and NY.
LA and NY will be no where near dead last next year.

dont know what you mean by 'more money'. draft salaries are all set amount based on pick position -> http://www.cbafaq.com/scale2011.htm

the Raptors can create more revenue using Wiggins.

In the same way the Toronto Maple Leafs made more money off of Doug Gilmour than the St. Louis Blues did.

I doubt that. You are comparing St. Louis / Toronto hockey markets to basketball markets in which case you have made a horrible error...there is no Toronto basketball market.

Kidding aside, I like the hiring of Ujiri in Toronto but that team would merely be a launching pad for Wiggins free agency in about 5 years.

if there were no Toronto basketball market they would've never been awarded a team.
Isiah Thomas, Bryan Colangelo, and Glen Grunwald never would've come here.
if there were no Toronto basketball market then they would've left town as fast as teh Grizzlies left Vancouver.

there is a giant dormant Toronto market, which awakened only briefly when the Raptors won their 1 and only playoff series in the team's history.
that is why Tim Lewieke is here.

So, in almost 20 years the raptors have one a single BO5. Check their attendance in the past several years of no playoffs.

Toronto is a huge basketball market.
Try reading some of what Kobe says when he comes here.

Coming to Canada, passing through customs, enduring the cold winters... are all a giant pain in the ass. Why would the NBA and the PA put up with all this crap?
Toronto and Canada represents a giant pile of cash and David Stern and the NBAPA knows this. That is why there is a team in Toronto.

i'll spell it out for you.
the 5 worst teams in the NBA for 2013-4 won't be able to generate the kind of revenue MLSE will be able to generate using Wiggins.

regarding the "launching pad" part.
this was also true of the Toronto Blue Jays until they got a good GM.

then all of a sudden, Dave Winfield, Rickey Henderson, Jack Morris and Jeff Kent are "happy to be in Canada".
Toronto ain't Cleveland.

right now, in Toronto, basketball is more popular than baseball.

Look bro...I was joking for crying goodness sake. That is what "kidding aside" was referring to. You can stop your Better Business Bureau or Toronto Chamber of Commerce rant man... I know Toronto. I grew up in Western NY and spent a good amount of time there. Hell, my Bills will probably be moving to Toronto after this next lease expires in Buffalo.

Typical how the off season thread dips right into toronto hopefuls, for a year from now. Someone said how toronto isnt cleveland? Yea cleveland has had success in the past decade and their #1 picks have been worth max contracts. Lolz

Its been dead since stern said he would veto any trade, scratch that, its been dead since it went public as about 10% of public trades ever go through

So their Toronto success hinges on tanking hard enough to land Andrew Wiggins, hoping he is what everyone says he is and he doesn't get injured and he really is the next Lebron?

Everyone and their mother will be trying to get Wiggins next year, and no matter how hard they tank there are going to be teams with a better shot, like the Bobcats or any Western conference bottom-feeder, since they play more good teams a year.

All the non-championship contender teams (both real and teams that think they can win) will try to tank to get Wiggins, but even then, some bad teams have to win games. Everyone can't be a loser in the league (over half the league makes the playoffs).

I would've thought that if Doc and KG moved to the Clips, Stern, in his final act rigs the lottery so that Boston lands Wiggins. Yes, I know that Adam Silver is going to be commissioner by then, but Silver has always been Stern's right-hand man. Obviously this isn't going to happen now.

Let the conspiracy theories for the Andrew Wiggins draft commence!
Venture Capital is better off spent on lottery tickets rather than investing in E-Sports; you'll get a far better return. The difference is simple: Koreans are tryharding at the game, foreigners are tryharding in real-life.
