I'm no Zerg but why didn't Sleep have a spore or two up to help deal with the Medivacs and detect the WM? That 2 Medivac drop in the main did a fair bit of damage and gave some momentum to Maru when Sleep had been doing well thus far.

You can, but then you let get T a game winning fortified position while a drop is raping your main.

Basically you need either big portions of your army or your mutalisks to deal with drops.
Without big army/mutalisks in the counterattack, it's kinda easy to defend since mines deal with mass units well and marines deal with mutas well.
So it's very hard, best way imo is to do mini counter attacks with a handful of lings and hope the terran player doesn't have defense near his mineral lines.

Yeah im asking myself the same question in almost every ZvT I watch. I feel like it was the same way in WoL. It took forever until zergs started to dump minerals in static defence. Stephano being one of the few who wasnt afraid to do it and he became known for superb drop defence.

Hard to play perfect.
True, but that was the Medivac timing, no? So, he must have known it was coming. Even a single spore could have saved some precious lings and drones and negated the drop, at least somewhat, until the Overseer and reinforcements arrived.

Until Innovation slaughtered him with drops in GSL!
