Nicknames, positive ones anyway, stick once they've been given out.
Jaedong is still the Tyrant, Flash is still god, and MVP is still the King.
Some slumping or crossover degradation is no reason to strip a player of a rightfully earned title. If it helps you sleep at night, just refer to them by their extended titles:
Jaedong the Tyrant of Brood War
Flash the God of Brood War
MVP the King of Wings...

He's still doing extraordinarily well in SPL and his macro is probably the best out there. + Show Spoiler + this gentleman might have something to say about that...

Nice to see Maru and Bomber advance :D

I'm hoping First wins this season so we can have a Protoss winner :D And also because I've always like First. HerO, Oz and First are my favorite Protoss players :D

First 2-1
Hyvaa 2-1

Definitely Flash won't be top 3 next power rank unless someone will be hugely biased or Flash will pull some miracle after miracle in Proleague playoffs.

There are many great sc2 players out there, and even then we often get surprises. Thre is hardly any long period of domination by one player. I assume this is due to the fact the game is still in its infant stage, and as the fact that sc2 unit counters are ridiculously strong even on A-Move, makes sc2 a very volatile game. Thats great for the viewers, for the gamers, not so much.

People go around shooting elephants. Isn`t that forbidden by law? This has to be punished.

Did you see the group he was in last Season? and this season he had the best player in the world, a Terran who is really good or really silly (this time he was really good) and we've yet to see Flash v Bbyong yet.
He is definitely top 10

At least flash losing to tha bomba, maru going through to next round and first's, symbol's and supernova's chances balances the kespa esf bitchfight a bit to be continued...

God I hate the nickname God.. It's okay to be god of something, but just God, you refer to the one God of Christianity, which sucks, because it's the highest status anyone can ever have, it's like saying none will ever surpass him.

Or it is like saying that Flash doesn't exist. Quite an insult.

And noone could in Brood War. Which is how he got his nickname.
God is just a nickname that stuck with him from BW to SC2, where he in my opinion, is not worthy of the nickname.. yet. But he's doing extraordinarily well in the small time he's been in the SC2 scene, he's adapting very well.
