He did explicitly admit laziness in his interviews, but you can't deny that he has a ton of talent. One does not simply win so many tournaments while being lazy- you need to have some solid skill to back it up.

RIP to Foreign StarCraft.
No sarcasm

EG is definately cutting back on their sc2 budget lol no. It's a complete coincidence since those two events have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Leaving on a high. Happy for him. Sad that we'll be missing someone who just thought more intelligently about the matchup than anyone else besides NesTea and Leenock.

This news should not be surprising. He gave relatively firm timetables for his previous plans for retirement, and each time he extended his progaming career, the chances of him retiring the summer after only increased.
I can also see Thorzain retiring this year or next year since I recall him saying in an interview that he also has wishes to go back to school sometime.
Yeah, this is true, he says this every year. Let's see if he can make a breakthrough in hots for wins or not. Currently he isn't playing as well as he did in WoL so for him, it begins to make more sense to drop the game and move on to school considering he isn't making as much money as he used to from winnings.

You do realize he was good long before the patch. Patch came out in February 2012 yet he won his first major tournament (IPL3) in October 2011. Yeah... patchzerg. /sarcasm

Dang! That sucks that EG has been losing some good zergs lately.

Was expected unfortunately. Sad to hear but best of luck to Stephano!

And just like that, my two favorite Zergs are no longer going to be playing competitively.

Scarlett.
Also... man, hard to believe. I hope Stephano manages to somehow win WCS EU in one last epic blaze of glory.

Good luck, and thanks for the great games and the laughs.

No more ez foreigner-money, no more Stephano. Makes sense. He just can't compete anymore.

Sen's pretty good, BlizzCon 3rd and WCS Final 4th, Stephano's the only other foreign zerg who can win global tournaments (MLG/NASL), Idra's not even close to the above mentioned.
Scarlett has not done any, unproven.

There has been so much mention of stephano and med school. He said specifically in an interview that he was never in or accepted to med school. he said he'd like to go to med school. you actually have to get accepted into a medical program before people can start saying 'oh wow now you have all this money to pay for med school.'
|
Sigh well we knew this day would come soon... GL in schooll Ilyes!
|
It's a smart move to stop now. Good luck to him and thank you for all that you have done to entertain us, Stephano!

Can't he keep playing and go to school at the same time? Like what Suppy is doing.
