It was announced on stream today that Stephano will be stopping his career on August 15th, opting to go back to school and continue his studies that he left for two years to become a full-time progamer. During his time, Stephano has been the best foreigner in SC2 history, winning prolific tournaments such as WCS Europe, IPL, and NASL. He has made $216,000 in his career, winning over $100,000 more than any other foreigner, Mana in second place at $94,000.

He had a great run, gl in the futute!

EG loosing both stephano and idra in such a small time frame will be pretty bad for them.
he realizes the over all prize money is going down hill. Smart exit by him.
wow. that's shocking considering how well he has been playing...
Edit: not being sarcastic.
Wow. I hope he at least makes a decent last appearance in the months to come so we don't just get this feeling that he just declined from his past greatness.
It's been obvious for a while now, his play in HOTS has been way inferior to WOL.
That was expected. GLHF dude
This is sad news
Hes had a good run. He knows when to quit, which is a good thing i suppose.
EG is losing 2 star players which is abit of a hard blow to them.
Oh no this is terrible!!! Glhf in your studies Stephano. I'll never forget your game vs KiwiKaki!

He'll be remembered in legend now.

Anyway, it'll be a shame that he's gone but this is the right decision I think
Sad to hear he was always one of my favourite players.

Well thats obviously a good call by him, zerg in hots is hard to enjoy. On the other hand losing both idra and stephano leaves me with almost no foreign zergs to cheer for
