Well there is a bit of truth to this, it's not 2011 anymore, when Koreans didn't compete too much abroad, or 2012 when there was a major tournament with big prize pool every other weekend.

It's been an excellent run, Stephano, you will be missed.

It is sad. Stephano and Naniwa is the only western pros that could stand up to the Koreans. Yoda is dead and there is only Luke left.

lol Stephano isn't winning big bucks anymore. The exact reason he chose to leave, as he stated in an interview. He said he found winning fun, and that's why he was motivated. When he stopped winning he lost motivation.

Sad day, Kind of wish he would stay and take a few coerces while continue playing, but I understand that if he's not enjoying it anymore better to go out on top rather than on the bottom. Hope he continues to stream on occasion and stays in the community. Wish him the best.

I think Stephano has made excellent decisions in entering pro-gaming and leaving it, not because he isn't good anymore, but because he has proved himself and made money to live and pay for school.

It's a shame, he could've gone on winning but I think he got bored and lost his will to win. But who knows, in sc2, a lot of players have come back from retirement.

Very sad to see but I think most saw this coming. Didn't seem like he was practicing much of late, nor did he seem like he was ever in a good mood. After winning became harder and harder for Illyes, he lost his passion, drive and general enjoyment of the game. It sucks, because with a proper regimen and work ethic he couldve been one of the best - korean or non-korean- players in the game and would have grown a respectable legacy. As it stands, Starcraft loses one of its most talented and colourful personalities.
