He wants so desperately to be right. what is your prediction on prize money in 2013? i've made mine, and behaviour like this doesn't indicate that 2013 is going to be a banner year for SC2 prize money. 1.6 million in prize money, not including other LAN events. you're an idiot

I will wait until August 15th before I believe this... I have to T_T

Makes sense, EG likely would kick him anyway

I agree with you, Atleast now he'll be remembered as one of the best foreigners to ever play SC2 as opposed to just fizzling out , This is perfect timing for him to quit. I am sad hes going but all the best to him and his studies !!!

Not much of a surprise. I wonder how he will fare in these last 3 months.
|
It was about time. Great run though, definitely made an impact on the scene.
|
Wow he is really leaving the game when he's still considered to be one of the best. Good call of him!
Good luck in the future!
|
Sad but expected... Now, gogo Scarlett & Snute !
|
It was sort of expected. He didn't seem to enjoy playing the game, and he fiddled around with retiring before. Sort of ironic that a person who isn't really passionate about the game would do so well. Maybe pros just need to be more robotic about the game.

implying prize money is the only reason why Stephano would retire

What if he makes it in the WCS Blizzcon Final?
Because this would be after his careere ended .
|
Good luck in school dude, hope to hear more of you in the future
|
After the interview he did in Korea I saw sth like this coming also I know he wanted to start studying again. best of luck Ilyes! You will be missed.
Stephano fighting.

Truly incredible player who always excited the foreigner fanbase and had viewer counts rocketing. So many of his games against the best players gave me sick nerd chills.
|
Stephano is like the smiling version of Idra in many ways. but i think Stephano's decision is much better for himself than Idra's is for Idra.

Well he never really arrived in HotS. I think WoL suited him well (as a whole, not only after queenpatch - to shut down any kind of patchzerg discussion), it was kind of a nice coincidence for him. HotS is paced very differently and so some player will fall off, no doubt! He had a great carreer and he definately knows when to stop. Congratulation to him for his awesome carrer!

Sad to hear, he did a very good job in SC2.
