overall smart move by stephano, over 100k a year just in prize money, not counting what he gets paid by EG (idra said he had the best contract in e-sports and stephanos was on par with his), plus the money he makes streaming, definately a nice run.
Stephano to retire from SC2 in August to return to studies…

The sample size is what, 2-3 tournaments? Funny how players that do bad in two tournaments in a month is suddenly crap in this community. I start to think that there is gold fishes and not people watching SC2. Come back in a year and we can start talking about which player adapted well to Hots or not. With Stephanos laid back approach to the game it is not surprising that he would fall behind in the beginning. As the reward per hour of play is higher the less you have played. In other words will people that practice a lot is going to have a big edge in the beginning of a game compared to when you are a year in. If anything Stephano has been looking like he was getting closer and closer to monster mode for every passing week, imo. Anyway, this is a sad day. I think it is fair to say he the most successful foreign player in SC history. During the 18th month period 2011-06/2012-12 Stephano earned more prizemoney than any SC2 player (and that includes the Koreans) I wonder when next time a foreigner will achieve such a result, I am afraid that the answer could be never, although I really hope I am wrong about that one. So some respect is in order! Sad that he is leaving but happy for all the tournaments in which he alone kept the foreign hope alive.

Lol, dismissing some of the most valued traits in pro gaming to impose a moronic opinion. "He was totally sick, but not good at all" is basically how that reads. Gl Stephano. Smart to get out before all the foreigner money dries up (now)
