This is actually true for most koreans as well.
I think Stephano could easily be a top player in europe while studying, but I guess he got sick of playing the game anyway.

On the other hand losing both idra and stephano leaves me with almost no foreign zergs to cheer for Not quite sure how it's harder to enjoy....do you mean WoL zerg was easier to enjoy? And towards the end of WoL there were so many foreign zergs to cheer for. There's still Scarlett and Suppy doing well though.
Best of luck to stephano, was never a fan but I always recognized him as the most reliable foreigner to win games ever.

Stephano is one of the few pro gamers that I think its rational to keep playing (given his winnings). For most people school should be more important given its long term return and the uncertainty of being a pro crafter of stars. Stephano was one of the few to make it work where he wasn't metaphorically cutting workers to do it.

Him signing with EG is/was recognized as Stephano sticking around longer than he planned. The reason I say this is because a lot of people either don't know that or lose sight of it. We've had more Stephano than Stephano planned! And we are thankful. If homeboy decides to retire in August he will pursue further education and move on with his "real life." This is not a situation to mock either him or EG. I'd be sad to lose him as a teammate but absolutely THRILLED for him as a human being that has actually dipped into progaming, done better than anyone else outside of korea and then proceeded to go on with his life at his own discretion! Amazing.
Obviously this would be a big blow to EG in terms of our starpower for the roster but I wouldn't worry about us.
This is a time to remember Stephano for all he gave us and enjoy these last few months (if he decides to retire this time around).
<3 Stephano
there is nothing else to this situation but this. stephano is going to have maaaaaad success in life; in whatever what he chooses to be. he wins at easy-going-ness, dedication, persistance and motivation - all the character traits you need to be successful.

Another sad day because of Blizzards incapability to make a well designed game that is actually fun to play.

Best of luck to you Stephano. I hope you put more effort into your studies than you did SC2. You're obviously a naturally gifted person. I am starting to think you made an account just to insult players. Just in this week you have went into threads about Idra, Dimaga and Stephano and insulted them all...
Proof? You're lying hardcore lol.
I said these about idra:
"There would be no NA scene if not for idra"
"I'll admit I cried. I remember the days of his casting NASL, EGMCSL, and GSL. Those were the glory days of SC2. Idra is the 2nd highest earning American and has earned more money than any other player from the US. I hope he doesn't retire."
"Idra was what made EG so different from every other team. They have lost a ton of appeal imo, just your typical foreign team"
And I didn't insult Dimaga.. I think he's a great guy, I just didn't think he was a top foreigner is all.

Damn, this is like the end of an era. I know it probably makes sense for Stephano to move on, but man... it kind of sucks.
|
was expected, real life goes on, gl stephano, best foreign zerg forever
|
He'll ve impossible to replace, it's not easy for anyone to go hunting for easy foreigner money around the world anymore because of WCS and there's no foreigner that even comes close to being as relatively talented as him.
thanks for everything stephano!

I am honestly saddened by the fact of it now having an actual date to it when its before was "in x months".. nonetheless this is the greatest player, personality, person, boss, whateveryouwannacallhim that I have ever had the pleasure of being around. Creating news, collecting pictures and reporting everything for your SC2-idol was something I would have never dreamed of, being constantly rewarded with compliments on how good it was has literally been one of the greatest times I've had infront of my computer. I will definitely miss you as a player but I am glad you took an extra year for the fans and I am equally happy for you to pursue your studies again and focus on your future.
I have enjoyed every moment as your helper, nanny and whatelse soo much and I will continue to do so till the end! You are the greatest Stephano, and I am sorry to see you go BUT THERES STILL TIME to you know, continue.. Again.. and yeah. You should do whatever you want. I'd support you either way ♥

Good luck sir. It was a blast to watch you play. And some funny shit. Isn't he French and isn't their higher education free? : P
