MVP will never win G5L now. My heart. It breaks.

So wait, does this mean we won't see any of these guys in the GSL? What kind of bullshit is that?

What's funny is reading all the reaction from the NA pros, you'd think it's the Lifes, Innovations and Partings of the Korean scene coming, and not a bunch of Code B players. If they're this scared to compete against players most of whom can't even make it into Code A, then they're really hopeless.

What the fuck, seriously. WCS NA is supposed to be for NA players but instead its even more stacked than GSL. The fuck......

I'm sorry, you're right about Azubu, and CMStorm is debatable because they're a branch of a multi-national company that also has a US headquarters but you're wrong about the rest. Liquid's main office is in NYC as far as I know, that makes them a US team. Axiom is in fact a US team, if you disagree you can listen to TB's latest monologue on why they picked NA for their players. Even with Azubu and CMStorm, that would make 3 players out of 32 in the premiere division, and with no guarantee that they'll be able to qualify or even if they're invited, stay there in the first place. They could drop down if they lose. The rest are all players on NA teams, including one player from the vehemently anti-Korean Root. We simply have different views then. Liquid lists itself as an European team and only one of it's players is from NA. The teamliquid.net office is in NYC (where hotbid lives, i believe), but that doesn't mean the Liquid team is NA (your talking website, i'm talking team). Axiom is a team full of koreans with European owners, so while TB likely caters to the US audience, it wouldn't make it a US team, imo. Axiom has no connections to NA via team headquarters, owners, or players...sponsors do not make up a team.
Either way I agree that this isn't going to grow the NA or EU scenes, but for much different reasons.

Well, this should be interesting. It feels so wrong to have Jaedong competing in NA instead, though. :-/

Yes, but he might win the entire WCS finals at the end of the year. And that is far more superior to a measly GSL championship. I mean seriously, basically the BEST Koreans (Kespa & ESF) will qualify from each region (maybe 1-2 foreigners) for a grand championship at the end. It will be epic. It will be massive. It will be grand. To me, that means more than a 5th GSL championship.

I agree with you as regards Liquid, but the owner of Axiom is TB's wife, who is actually American, and they live in the US, even if TB is British.

Whats the point of calling it an NA and Europe tournaments if only Koreans will be playing in it.

I actually laughed out loud when i read the NA players just because of ITG yesterday saying how crazy the NA bracket will be I can see just what they meant. Hopefully some actual NA players make it through

@Godwrath below: we are talking about axiom.....not liquid

I'm so sad that so many koreans go for european or NA regionals. It's not their fault, it's Blizzard's but still I will enjoy a lot less games were a korean play from now on. It is like when a government says that you can fire locals to delocalize abroad, you can surely do it but it is not very classy. I used to hate League of Legend but now I love it because we don't see that much of korean teams even if they are better than european and american ones. In the end even if we don't always see the highest level of play, but we see really good games with people that can speak a langage we understand and share at least something with us. I have already plenty of ways to see a korean vs korean game

Remember how crazy TSL3 was stacked with Koreans? And then the finals were Naniwa & Thorzain... I'm sure 1-2 up and comers will appear in the NA top 32. I mean, how many spots are there actually? A few non-Koreans HAVE to be in there, and then I'm sure there will be 3-5 upsets.

I can see some foreigners being competitive in Europe since there are only 6 Koreans, but 20 in NA? No chance over there.
