CEO said it himself, he can't control the direction of the company anymore.

OGN being happy is a good for SC2 growth. ever since MBC decided to takeaway their gaming channel OGN is the only remaining cable-access gaming channel in Korea from what I know... So when kids tune into to watch progaming, they're going to tune into OGNand having sc2 4 days a week is a good thing. I think SpoTV is a specialty channel in Korea

It's just not entertaining - the one prime example who goes against the current is MC, The Boss Toss.... He does "his job" so perfectly, has earned the most and perhaps the most loved SC2 player of all? (even if MVP is The Best so far - imo!). Respect MC! ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
Sorry, perhaps a bit off topic :D

It's still more than before. And I think what's lacking the most in NA is lower level tournaments for newer players to show themselves. I don't think a tournament designed to be a competition of the best of the best should have development of inferior scenes as it's main goal. The trouble with that though is that the vast majority of foreign teams don't and can't pay their players a reasonable enough wage to permit them to focus exclusively on gaming, and if every tournament out there with a big prize pool has a dozen Koreans finishing at the top, all they can do is fight over scraps. This was a chance for Blizzard to give NA players some pretty good money to play for over the course of the year and give our guys some actual incentive to pursue progaming as a career, but instead it's going to be like every other international tournament now.

Why not just Split Korea into 2-3 divisions? Korea West/Central/East and then have 15-16 Korean invites, 8 EU, and 8 NA? Then 4/8 groups of 8/4 person round robin. -> ro16
I know it costs more... but just making Koreans fly around the world and stomp the shit out of all the foreigners doesn't seem to be a very forward thinking approach.
The Koreans deserve more seats according to their "skill density". It's not fair to create a Korean bloodbath, and it's not fair to have Foreign scenes have a much lower chance to sprout by crowding them with Code S caliber players.
I agree with you. I wish blizzard hadnt rushed this and kept us in the dark. I mean everything they release gamewise has lots of flaws and gets improved by community and pro feedback. Why would such a big change to the structure of esports be any different.

MC can't play in EU Premier Division, because he got knocked out from Code S right?
So i guess he will play to get a spot in the EU Challenger League..?

Polt should marry Korean American and become American in that way:
1. He can be an American citizen, better life, better opportunities 2. Dodge army

and the NA champ is....some guy form KR. so much for growing the NA/EU sc2 scene

Why even call it NA qualifiers when the only players that will do well aren't NA. I hoped the region lock would promote the lesser known NA players. This just seems like a mad scramble for prize money.

Better opportunities/life in the USA? lol

This sucks simply because a lot of my favorites that were all concentrated in the GSL will no longer be playing in the league. I'd rather just keep watching GSL as it has fantastic production and the highest skill level yet with all of my favorite players.
