7 games tonight.
4 loses and 3 sweet sweet wins!
And another promotion to Diamond league! :D
Tonight's escapades began a little bumpy. I could not log onto the American servers, or any other servers than the European one. Something about it not being the same version as the game. No update was available, so not quite sure what is going on there. But I hope it will go away like toothaches and bleeding's tend to do.
So I had to play the late-nighters back home. I live in Houston for work at the moment. But my "main" account is on the EU side, so now all my friends back home will also see that I am of the Diamond persuasion. (While it lasts)
Game 1
Started out with a ZvT.
He did a reaper opening into mass reaper into marine tank mine into super greedy thrid.
I was able to roll him with ling bling pretty esay once I held off the reapers. Although I did sweat a great deal trying to deal with the mines using only ling bling. Thankfully he was not very good, and had them just out without support hoping I would run over them.
Game 2
Another ZvT
This guy opened one rax bunker rush. I held that sorta fine. Lost a few drones but nothing major. He den expanded and things moved on normally. As I took my third I sent out a pack (20ish) of lings to scout and make sure he did not get a third for free. ran them into a mine and lost them all.
Instantly typed "gg".
I did however miss F10, and hit F9 instead. This game me time to gather my thoughts, and stick in the game. Yey! I then lost the game a few minutes later to tank, mine, hellbat.
The real reason I lost it was however : poor scouting, macro and a bad engagement when he pushed. Since I did not scout, I did not see it coming until he was inside my thrid hatch, drinking my beer. I should then have sacked that, waited for the units to pop, and tried to crush the attack. That would probably kept me in the game.
Game 3
Yet another ZvT
This guy did CC first into a third. I just killed him with speed lings.
Game 4
ZvZ!
10min no rush into muta v muta that he won.
I did however leave to early in this game. I was losing a big muta v muta engaement that was kinda close, so I just gg'ed and left.
When I leftm I had 62 drones to his 49. I had my third up, he did not. And I had just killed off his pool. He did however have 11 mutas to my 9 and 28 lings to my 9. Not sure if I could have won, but I sure should have tried. It is games like this I really need to change!
Why did I leave? I really don't know. I felt mad that I took the engagement. I was mad that I had not build spores that could defend me now that I would loose most of my mutas. And I was mad that I had started the +1 flyer armor so late and he won the engagement because of it. This led me to tilt a little, and gg out. I really need to broaden my game sense, so that I can see that even though I have made a few stupid mistakes during the game, I might still be ahead. I get this image in my head that my opponents never make mistakes.
Game 5
ZvZ
He 6 pooled and won.
Game 6
ZvZ
He did a one base sling bling all in with a fake expansion. and won.
Game 7
ZvRandom (T)
A pretty fun game. He opened hellions into a pretty late expansion. And for one of the first times in my life, I did not lose one gazilion drones to 4 hellions running into my base. :D Had I done that, I probably would have left this game early to..
Anyway, he then took his natural, and I teched to muta. Once they where out I saw that he was going pure mech. I therefore double expanded and teched to Swarm host. And for a while there I was on 4 saturated bases and containing him on two with tons of swarm hosts.
But hehe managed to break out of using mostly thors. That made my blood boil! I then remaxed on ling Ultra and rolled him.
Not sure why I got so mad that he was able to break the contain, I guess I felt that I was so far head that he should just roll over and die right there. And it felt unfair that he should get a second chance hehe.
