Thoughts? That's a good idea if we could make it happen, but unless the person we are set on lynching is town, I find that unlikely to occur. No harm in giving it a shot though. I don't like the idea of sending a bunch of votes the way of our top scumread and strongly oppose this idea. In the spirit of entertaining the thought, do you think it would be possible if there is one clear leading candidate? Such as someone ahead by more votes than the mafia team could possibly swing away to a secondary candidate? Or does the math not work in our favor for this? For example: 13 votes for Candidate A (intended mayor) 5 votes for Candidate B (intended lynch) At this point we could consolidate votes on Candidate A and then move several to B to ensure they are elected pardoner. This could take place after, say, 30-36 hours of the day is complete or something thereabouts. You are assuming that scum has zero thread influence, why? Math is hard. Are you sure you're not Kadaver?

Reads subject to change obviously Dear. Yeah there's 0% chance anyone should consider voting you for longer than like 3.5-4 seconds. OooOoO you have me quaking in my boots Mrs. Fell.
You're just jealous I had an awesome campaign post as inspiration. Keep trying for those cock-blocks why don't ya.

You gonna include yourself in that RNG dear If I am allowed to lynch myself day one. Yes. I believe in true RNG. Isn't that retarded as both alignments? Yes? But the idea of a random lynch is good. You should be able to see why. Assuming you don't suck, which I'm assuming. I trust any decent town player should be able to lynch scum day one when elected as mayor more than 20% of the time. Why would you give up the chance on making an informed decision on who to lynch, derive information about players who were pushing or defending said player is beyond me. RNG provides nothing besides a place to shy away from responsibility.

Yes, ideally you vote in the towniest player as mayor, but someone can be townie and useless. Mayor determines today's lynch. The idea that Mayor is irrelevant is one you should cast out of your mind as soon as possible. On the basis that it promotes a mafia agenda. The most important thing about the election is to get town into the two roles.
Let's lynch him because he's right?
It's D1, more like than not people are going to have town reads that are dead wrong. So when wade says "can't just go voting townreads", he's correct. It's pretty easy for scum to appear town in D1 - nothing's happened yet. It's VERY easy for people to accidentally throw a few votes on a scum member they think is town, and BOOM mafia has a pardon. Terrible fucking idea.
And wade's further concerns are also easy to understand (concerning the lynch candidate being tossed to 2nd place and then getting killed to get rid of the pardoner). It's extremely easy and common for last minute panic switches to occur. Hell, it was a leading detriment to Themed Mafia just a few days ago, and it's often as not lead by town as it is by scum.

Hello. Everybody should vote me for mayor, I'm 100% correct on my first impression scum-reads for the last 2 years. That's an amazing track record.

I don't like the idea of sending a bunch of votes the way of our top scumread and strongly oppose this idea. well everyone knows that the guy is voted to be lynched. What's supposed to happen? A mafia last second voteswitch to make him 1st instead of 2nd? I'm perfectly happy with mafia outing multiple guys to make our lynchcandidate mayor instead lol. There's not going to be anyone who's like "well I want to lynch him so we should make him come in 2nd!" and 5 minutes later ends up saying "well I liked him as a lynch candidate but I like what he's saying right now, so let's make him mayor instead!"The only problem I see with it is that it is indeed hard to pull off and needs organization in terms of people knowing what's going to happen somewhat ahead of time. I've seen a LOT of last minute shenanigans in recent games on TL Mafia. It's a disconcerting trend and you would be amiss to discount the possibility of that taking place here, led by either scum or town. People are bad. I thought about it pregame a bit and came to the conclusion that it's too hard to pull off and at the same time is restricting us timewise because we'd have to set on a lynch way ahead of time to make sure everyone knows what's going on, which basicly makes the day a 24h day instead of a 48h day. Wanted to see people's thoughts though and I don't exactly like your response to it unlike other ones.

I definitely like Toad's idea of killing the Pardoner if we can pull it off. It's gonna be very difficult logistically though.
I'm definitely a slow reader so hopefully I can get some more of my thoughts in once this thread stops outpacing me, lol.
