So I was originally going to work on the Chorizo egg bites...but I got too excited about this one. ): SORRY. Those will come early next week. I PROMISE. <3
This recipe is for the creator of the CSL, hazelynut!
by the way, this recipe is gluten-free :D
INGREDIENTS
salt (less than teaspoon)
honey
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of hazelnuts, crushed
1 tablespoon of mascarpone cheese (separated into two parts)
1 tablespoon of pure cocoa powder (or baking chocolate)
1/3 cup of flax seed
1 banana
2 eggs
This recipe works best if you use a non-stick skillet. If you don’t have a non-stick skillet, use a little bit of oil (preferably a coconut oil or butter) to keep the pancakes from sticking. You will need to clean the pan with a moist towel between each batch.
PROCEDURE
Prep work for this will take about 10 minutes. Total cook time will be about 15 minutes (about 2 minutes per pancake), this will also depend on how large/how many pancakes you make. This recipe will make 2 servings.
Calories per serving: ~310 calories
Mash banana in a large bowl using a fork. Combine your eggs and stir until the mixture has thoroughly combined.
Add in your vanilla extract, flax seed, and chocolate powder. Stir to combine. If you find that your mixture is too thick, you may want to add a teaspoon of water (or milk) in order to thin it out.
Set a skillet on low heat. Pour about a 1/4 of a cup of batter into the skillet.
Cook pancake for about 45 seconds to 1 minute on each side (the pancakes will start to bubble).
Remove pancakes from skillet as soon as they’re done.
Plate pancakes and add a spoonful of mascarpone cheese.
Drizzle honey and sprinkle hazelnuts over the pancakes.

so does adding mascarpone cheese hahah :D so I guess this is more focused on being gluten-free instead of just being paleo.
AAAH chocolate pancakes why didnt i think of that xD looks soo good.
what is mascarpone cheese?
and hwat is flax seeds? I thought flax had to do something with bows and arrows orsomething like taht. also i was looking through the recipe to find where you use the flax seeds to get some clue as to what they are and i didnt find it in the actual recipe. is that a mistake?

Mascarpone cheese is like ...hmm a creamier cottage cheese? haha It has a pretty mild, milky flavor. It basically tastes like pure cream. usually you have it with some sort of sugar (like adding honey) to make it tastier.
Flax seed is a type of seed. They're usually ground up into a powder. You can add flax to almost anything to give it an extra nutritious boost! :D
And yes, total typo mistake. ): I've fixed it in the original post!

This is like Food... Bible Study. Not food porn. :o
Butter and flour are great. Don't get me wrong; I'm totally not advocating a complete ban on buttery goodness and baked treats. However, I'm all for healthy food mainly because it lets me skimp on exercising haha.
The best way to lose weight and to stay healthy is to not eat bad food. A diet full of sugars, flour, butter, dairy, fats, etc won't do much good for getting your body the nutrients it needs. Once in a while, it's totally ok (which is why you'll see some dessert recipes like creme brulee on my blog), but everyday is a little over excessive.
There's two major philosophies regarding health vs food in take that I follow: 1) Eat healthy food, don't need to work out as much 2) Eat everything you ever wanted, work out a ton! (Michael Phelps style, basically)
You just gotta find a balance between the two.
That's why I'm trying to mix the bad with the good... The flavors of bad food for you, but with the health benefits of typical "health" food. :D

T___T omg. I want to make all of those.
But that's the goal... Make it look bad for you, taste good, and still be nutritious!
They look so delicious. I love banana and chocolate together! I'd like to make them for my boyfriend but he's really allergic to bananas (raw ones for sure, possibly cooked banana as well, but generally he avoids all bananas) so do you think there's anything that could replace the banana? (:
Also wanted to add that you rock and I love all your recipes! Thank you for sharing them! Eventually I'll get around to trying out all of them with my boyfriend. (:
