gl man, the time is so good so i hope to watch some matches! definitely want to see some SC2BW!
|
Unfortunatly I don't have a NA Account x.x .
|
Don't have a NA account either. It's strange to use CET prime time and NA Server.

All games on fighting spirit doesn't seem right.... I think a 5 map pool would be useful, in bo3 make it losers choice.
|
There are no other maps for this mod afaik also would to participate but I'm EU. GL to all!

Did you mean automine off? Isnt that true bw settings?

Those are tournament settings (automine on) but they encourage players to use true BW settings (automine off).

I think we should default to complete BW settings. Having one SC2 setting thrown in there is just weird, and leaving it up to both players to decide can lead to some awkward situations since they most likely will either want full SC2 or full BW. The choice can still be there, but I feel it should be full one or the other. On full BW mode, it will cater to most of the people playing or tuning in. We should also stress the fact (on stream) that these settings are possible, as I find that a lot of people dismiss the game because it is not BW enough or not enough like SC2 mechanics.
Good job setting this up, though! I do find the time of the tournament odd, however, as a lot of people in NA are still working during this time. Nevertheless, I know we can't suit everyone's needs, so maybe we can find a happy medium as we have more tournaments.
Glad to have so many EU interests! Global play in HotS will help a lot. Before then, maybe we can have EU tournaments for SC2BW, as well.
P.S. You should post mention both current SC2BW threads in the OP http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=390265 http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=145316

Yay, more maps! A day or two before this tournament, you should make sure that the maps are working and consistent/equal the best you can. Grand Line, Destination, and BGH still have 1500/2000 HP hatcheries/lairs; Fighting Spirit (on the Arcade) is fine. Sorry, I keep bugging you about that even though it's not your fault. Re-upload maybe? It seems Arcade maps hold changes better or something. >_< I can go through all of the maps to make sure they are consistent a few days beforehand and let you know.

Prolly because of your personal timezone settings.

Storm needs to be fixed if possible. It lasts too long last time I checked (8 instead of 4 seconds) and it also was instant cast, none of the small delay that was in BW.
Edit: Actually just tested again, it looks like only the tool tip says that it's 8 seconds, in game it's really 4 according to the timer.

Sign me up! (I'm a protoss)
I also think we should do BW settings to keep it as uniform and fair as possible.

Which map and when did you check? I just checked FS, and it lasts 4 seconds there. Have not seen problems with it elsewhere recently (it is 4 seconds). The tooltip says 8 seconds, though; it just needs to be updated.
I agree with adding a short casting time to storm, but only for when the HT is moving. Right now, HTs can move and then cast instantly (they stop moving instantly if casting storm -- no deceleration time) They should have to take the time to decelerate (~1 second) before casting anything. Casting instantly when standing still is fine, though. I believe that is how it was in BW, and it makes sense.

Okay. Map pool will be expanded then upon release of those.
EDIT: I'm also getting the gist an evening tourney would be better so let's do this:
Poll: Start Time?20:00 EST (evening start) (19) 59% 14:00 EST (afternon start) (13) 41% 32 total votes Your vote: Start Time? (Vote): 20:00 EST (evening start) (Vote): 14:00 EST (afternon start)

Yea, basically this. I wanted a compromise between BW and SC2 settings as default, while still allowing players to go whichever way they want on the options if both feel strongly about it.
My personal trend is to favor BW settings, as I feel that this increases the amount of strategy on the time end (i.e. how do I spend my time), but plenty of people in the SC2BW thread indicated that full on BW settings are a really big shock to them and especially with this being the first one I prefer to strike a middle ground.

Yeah, I think either a weekend or Friday evening time would be better. Apologies to our EU viewers/players, as it would no longer be on prime EU time. It should work better for all of us NA people, since it is on the NA server. Let's take a vote, though!
Personally, I would have to miss (most of, depending how long the tournament lasts) the games if it runs in the evening (unless a few hours later), but I would much rather miss it and have more players/viewers overall. I'm bad, anyway. >_<
Let's do this!
P.S. inaugural Also, please make a note in the OP that Maverck is planning on adding more maps, so we will have a larger map pool.
