How do you feel about taking two victories for your team in one day?
We needed to have hurried up and grabbed a win already but we ended up grabbing one towards the end of Round 1. I was able to realize just how valuable one victory really is. I plan on preparing for Round 2 with the mentality that it is only the beginning from here on out as I disregard the Round 1 losses.
Your started off the season with two straight losses.
I lost to both Ryul2 and Dear because our build orders got crossed over too much and I just couldn't do anything. But the coaching staff believed in me and that's why we were able to finally take our first victory and three straight victories for me.
You've been making consistent results since your transition to WoL.
I'm not sure if skill wise I am lacking more than the other players but none the less, I believe I have the biggest responsibility when it comes to my team. Since I have the most responsibility out of everyone else, I think that's why I am able to somewhat make these results.
How was game one?
I was confident when it comes to PvTs on Bifrost. Honestly, I did get a little flustered there at the beginning. The banshee was hitting my assimilator and my stalkers were out of range. That desperately needs to get fixed (laughs). Bifrost is a map where Protoss can easily play an economic game so there is also that factor that I won easily.
How did you feel about the ace match where your opponent decided to pressure your base with blink stalkers?
I was flustered for about five seconds. But I regained my composure almost immediately and decided that I could defend this attack even with half my army. I was able to win cause I sent the other half of my army to my opponent's base. That decision was effective on my part.
This season's goals?
I'm not at a place where I can talk about goals yet. SC1 is different from SC2 but none the less, the responsibility I hold regarding my team is still the same. All I can say is that I have to do well.
Your next opponent will be sOs.
I'm confident against sOs since I've beaten him during a preliminaries before. Honestly, I was hoping sOs would lose today (laughs). Mainly because I wanted his momentum to have died down a little bit before our encounter takes place.
If you had to evaluate the year 2012?
I started this year off well but I feel like I botched it towards the end. It is disappointing. But 2013 is the year of the snakes and my Chinese character is a snake. Therefore, it's over (laughs). We have our first match on January first and my debut will be on the second. Basically, everything is lining up for me from the very get go (laughs), I plan on practicing really hard with the belief that everything will go well from the start.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank the fans for taking care of me for my debut today. I also want to thank coach Oh, who is the designated Protoss coach, for always helping me out with specific timings and all sorts of things. I'm sure Stork hyung shares my sentiments as well.
