EG.Jaedong - Page 110
Forum Index > SC2 General |
Correction: Daily ESPORTS mistakenly reported earlier that Jaedong would return to Team Eight immediately should they find a sponsor. This was a misunderstanding; Jaedong's 1 year period with EG is binding.

Hopefully that was just a bad game for him because there's a huge gap between that level of play and being able to compete with the best palyers in the world. People are really over sensationalizing how bad he played. JD stopped droning almost completely by the 8 min mark and was relying on engaging the protoss army early, he just missed his window after Stats scouted his army at the watch tower and made 2 extra warpins before moving out past midmap. There wasn't much he could do from that point. He should have been more aggressive with the early units he invested in, but NA masters level? that's ridiculous.

JD waited until Protoss was approaching the Zerg natural before engaging. There's no reason to make that mistake. He got full scouting information early on, saw it was THE most common build Protoss does, and he simply didn't know how to respond. It's a strong rush, I get that. Even with good play, JD might have lost to the rush because it can be really hard to defend even if you know what you're doing. But it seemed pretty clear that JD didn't know what he was doing. And he wasn't anywhere close to defending it.

This rush MAGNIFIES the Zerg player's mistakes. I understand you're pissed off that Jaedong lost (FUCK), but if there is one thing he would lose to it is this.

Tachion agreed that JD made mistakes yet you just abandon the statement he was arguing against and start trying to address mistakes that have already been noted.

We have already seen Flash go from some masters player, at first, to a top 3 MLG + Code A participant and who dominated the first Pro League match. I think Jaedong will reach his potential sooner or later and dominate (: are you serious? Investing in Jaedong is a long term investment???? then again considering EG's other investment's I guess it can be seen in this light.

If you put a random NA or EU Masters Zerg player in that game, there's a good chance that they would perform better than JD did. JD's supply was low, his decisions were bad, his control was lacking. I'm not saying JD is as bad as he played in that game. Maybe he just had a bad showing. But if that game was representative of his current SC2 skill level, he has a LONG ways to go before he's competitive at the pro level. Wow you should really never talk if you just say things you have no idea about JD lost because he cut early to try and do a run by with lings so he delayed his queen and drone production for 4 quick lings which didn't work out So he was just behind the entire game and really couldn't do anything but make that big army off a low drone count and hope for a catch mid map,but stats made a obs earlier and saw the big army at the watch tower so he just delayed for a another warp in cycle then crushed him Jaedong actually made the best decision he could make considering the scenario after that early game

Just like when you play at different blind sizes in poker, you make differently sized bets, so too do you weigh periods of time according to the context they're provided in. The qualifications for lengths of time in SC2 are much smaller than, say, financial investments in stocks or bonds. Long term for SC2 is year(s) not decade(s). At least respect Pyre.

Taeja, Hero, Stephano, Jyp, Puma, Thorzain, demus, Idra, huk. All of these players can take games off of the best players in the world. Shit even Suppy is amazing, I mean sure some of these players aren't playing their best recently. But seriously atleast 6-7 of them can easily take games of off the best. Quit trolling.
