well stephano being stephano !

GGs. Very entertaining set to watch. Especially with the history between these two teams, and the recent addition of Stephano.

I would actually like casters to at least say what server a game was played on to put thinks into perspective. There are so many cross-server games where great players have really bad reaction time etc. Likewise, it's why I appreciated Kenningit's post. Most of the time you don't even know when games that were cast from replays were played, so a bit of background is nice.

Because of the IPTL winner-stays format, you cant just schedule certain matches for better timing. There's not an optimal solution for timings right now. Ideally your players are i the best possible mental condition when they play hard matches due to the cerebral nature of SC2...it's just not as feasible as we'd like.
ggwp better luck next time Stephano won fair and square. I really wouldn't expect excuses like this from TL. Puma and JYP had to play at late times as well. If you were really that concerned about the time and their condition, maybe you should've had Haypro or Ret practice a zvz snipe build instead of leaning on the "tired" koreans. You really should've not bothered with the first 2 paragraphs and just typed the ggwp better luck next time.
didn't know kennigit was the coach for liquid. anyways, go eg!

Gratz EG, such a close series. Hopefully we get a more EG/Liquid in other leagues soon!

Only in his dreams.
Stephano clutch from the start.

Taeja and Hero are very good, and even though I'm not too fond of Stephano, I do think he deserved those victories. However GSL is very different. The amount of preparation required for the player is immense and this works both ways as your opponents will also be studying you. Not to mention this was a Best of 1 which doesn't really mean much, which is the sole reason I dont watch OSL either, despite legends like Flash playing in there.
With that being said, I do think Stephano can do well in GSTL if given the opportunity, as that has the same format as what we just saw. Although the snipers will be a lot more difficult in GSTL. Code S is a different story, and until we see it with our own eyes, he will never officially be on top.

You know the games are likely going to go very late if they start at say 11 or 12 korean time it's obviously going to go past 2-3 AM most likely against teams that are fairly evenly matched. I don't understand that. It just seems like an excuse to me. People in the thread are asking why they (taeja and hero) were making so many silly mistakes.
i havent seen taeja doing silly mistakes, he had perfect control over his banshees and was targetting baneling like a baller, he just played too greedy, stephano punished him.
for HerO, he just had no chance against Stephano ZvP no matter how good he would have played, sending ret would have been a better choice since stephano isnt really good at ZvZ.
Stephano is flanking protoss like a boss.... its unbelievable.

Still, Code S RO16 is pretty nice.
no no no it was best of 1 not gsl is best of 3, so he gets RO4 from each. RO(4+4) he s RO8.

Not much said that Taeja and Hero played badly. About Taeja he showed really high skill level against JYP and lost to Stephano due to great decision making. About HerO he played well but again, Stephano level was really, really high. Saying they played bad is silly and not fair for EG, are you saying TaeJa made silly mystakes against JYP ? Cause i just saw a freaking good banshee micro and a sharp timing.

I'm not saying taeja made mistakes against JYP, rather due to play times etc maybe JYP would have beaten taeja and we'd have lost even earlier. Scheduling and sucking it up is just something everyone has to deal with.
I understand that people want to look for "HEY THEY ARE MAKING EXCUSES" as soon as anything is addressed outside of "ggwp"...but i think it's important for fans to have a full picture. If stephano and taeja played that set 50 times, stephano still beats him more due to greed - but the "minor" mistakes fans asked about earlier in the thread are affected (even if a minor degree) by timings, lags and all that stuff that every team and player suffers from.
Overall we lost because they played better.

Axslav is a beast in the booth. I hope you guys keep him and we see him casting at more tournaments!

I pretty much agree with j4vz, I think Liquid have underrated Stephano's shape... However in his last official event he crushed Polt, Genius and Supernova in a row... Silly was not Taeja or Hero decisions but TL decision not to keep Sheth or Zenio to snipe Stephano.
EDIT : Well maybe scheduling issues prevented TL to do so.
