So sad stephano is EG now.

He did a good job.
Stephano is EG's saving grace.
As for Taeja's play and getting caught with his pants down, meh.
At least HerO's game was a bit better.

I mean people were wondering who was playing cross-server etc, seems handy to give us a sense of when the games were played
yeah and if liquid won he would have totally posted that right ? it was just to inform people right ? lmao

Scheduling matches internationally fucking sucks - its pretty common that you can be in worse or better condition that your opponent just based on scheduling (it was about 9pm EU, 3pm US when stephano/taeja played). Iirc we had basically hit the limit for delaying this set, so delaying the games wasn't really an option.
Because of the IPTL winner-stays format, you cant just schedule certain matches for better timing. There's not an optimal solution for timings right now. Ideally your players are i the best possible mental condition when they play hard matches due to the cerebral nature of SC2...it's just not as feasible as we'd like.
ggwp better luck next time Don't Puma and JYP live in Korea too? This kind of gets at the heart of it

Stephano won fair and square. I really wouldn't expect excuses like this from TL. Puma and JYP had to play at late times as well. If you were really that concerned about the time and their condition, maybe you should've had Haypro or Ret practice a zvz snipe build instead of leaning on the "tired" koreans.
You really should've not bothered with the first 2 paragraphs and just typed the ggwp better luck next time.

You know the games are likely going to go very late if they start at say 11 or 12 korean time it's obviously going to go past 2-3 AM most likely against teams that are fairly evenly matched. I don't understand that. It just seems like an excuse to me. It's not an excuse as much as an explanation (maybe they are the same). Stephano definitely outplayed them both and won fair and square. People in the thread are asking why they (taeja and hero) were making so many silly mistakes. I'm just explaining some of the background on the matches. It could just have easily been scheduled for 8am (when id assume the EG house is waking up groggy etc).
Puma and JYP both had to play late (maybe JYP beats taeja if it had been earlier). It's something we should think about for future seasons though and how tournaments are formatted.
We've benefited from server/timing advantage PLENTY of times so its not really a boo-hoo about losing. Its just one of the unfortunate natures of playing internationally.

1/(1/RO8 + 1/RO8) = 1/(2/RO8) = 1/(1/RO4) = RO4

ggwp better luck next time That sounds like an excuse to me. You guys played a great series, and I (and most of the people watching I'm sure) were thoroughly entertained. But the timing of the post kind of gives off the excuse vibe to me.
exactly, it seemed like a well timed excuse.
Well done stephano, my predictions at the start of this thread were right! steffy can take out taeja and puma /jyp will clean up the rest.

I am just going to view it as kenigit giving accolades to Puma and JYP because they obviously don't get tired while the TL Koreans just aren't at that level yet. I think the Monster sponsorship helps

Opposite reasoning for being sad as Stephano is EG, for me. I love EG.

Stop saying Kennigit's post is an excuse, because he shares information with us...
I would actually like casters to at least say what server a game was played on to put thinks into perspective. There are so many cross-server games where great players have really bad reaction time etc.
And yeah I think Stephano beating Taeja on Korea is still impressive even given those circumstances. It also explains why he chose an all-in and didn't want to play a macro-game...
