So without taking too much away from the fact that Stephano won, i'll address a lot of the comments about Taeja and Hero's performance/making mistakes. These two games were played between 2:30 and 3:30am korean time - hero had just played his code s matches (at around 5pm) then came home to wait for this. Scheduling matches internationally fucking sucks - its pretty common that you can be in worse or better condition that your opponent just based on scheduling (it was about 9pm EU, 3pm US when stephano/taeja played). Iirc we had basically hit the limit for delaying this set, so delaying the games wasn't really an option.

Because of the IPTL winner-stays format, you cant just schedule certain matches for better timing. There's not an optimal solution for timings right now. Ideally your players are i the best possible mental condition when they play hard matches due to the cerebral nature of SC2...it's just not as feasible as we'd like.

Meh, why not play them earlier in the order then if their condition is going to be bad very late night korean time. You know the games are likely going to go very late if they start at say 11 or 12 korean time it's obviously going to go past 2-3 AM most likely against teams that are fairly evenly matched.

I don't understand that. It just seems like an excuse to me.

We need more casters like Axslav... Can someone make a fanclub for him? He knows that all you need is 65 drones for a 12 minute roach max, he explained the reason why Stephano had a much larger bank (Traded 100 supply for 300+ of Hero's). Great job. I hope IPL keeps him for good.

I know it's not your intention, but this came across as kinda sour. It does attempt to take away from EG's victory. International teams face international problems -- TL isn't the only one. This statement just felt like a wet blanket to me.

GGs to both squads but most definitely to the only foreign hope, Stephano.

Ah thanks for the info based ken.

Of course, still an all-in-all great match!

I do feel quite sorry for Hero.

no no no i think it adds together. RO8 + RO8 --> factor out the RO so you get RO(8+8) =RO16

If he's a Ro4 player he can go prove it.

I think Kenningit's post was pretty useful as well, didn't seem sour to me. I mean people were wondering who was playing cross-server etc, seems handy to give us a sense of when the games were played

You did well HerO. I just wish the PvZ lategame could change. It's so hard to win now that zergs have learned how to better nullify the mothership. Beating broodlords is just usually not cost-efficient without getting an archon toilet. Even though I'm a Liquid fan congrats to EG! Stephano having a great debut as an EG member in the IPTL.

Stephano was miles ahead after he shut down both his prism play at the start and then the sentry/immortal attack by killing those sentries. I'll agree that PvZ lategame is problematic, but Hero wasn't in a good position for the entire game, so we can't simply say it was all in the lategame imbalance (if there even is one not getting into that discussion here).

Kennigit: Sad to hear that, but sadly that is almost unavoidable if the two different teams are based on 3 different continents... Out of interest what kind of timewindow does IPL give the teams? 24 hours? 48?

That sounds like an excuse to me. You guys played a great series, and I (and most of the people watching I'm sure) were thoroughly entertained. But the timing of the post kind of gives off the excuse vibe to me.

It does matter. GSL is totally different.

Not saying Stephano isn't on a level with RO4 GSL players, just that it's stupid to claim he would get to RO4 GSL just based on these 2 games.
