first of all, I want to thank you for the birthday wishes and the over 250 views on my first post on TL ever. Feels great!
Well now,
what a rough couple of days it was, and I'm not just talking about Starcraft. That's why this entry will be a bit shorter than planned, because I'm really tired. As you know, last saturday was my 21th birthday and that had to be celebrated, and a party had to be planned! I was rather nervous, because, after three years, it was the first time the entire family of my gf was coming to one of my birthdays, and the two families are totally different. However, it went superb, we had a blast and I wanted to sleep all Sunday. So there I was, Sundaymorning, in bed around 9:30 and been sleeping for about 4 hours, when my gf decided to wake me up for a surprise. We would go for a swim with her family. How great, a day of sun, food, swimming and general fun. So far so good right?
Then, around 18:00 (6 pm) I realised I had to do not only 2 hours of prep work for the show, but I had to do a shitload of work for school too, and I wanted to work on my builds. So 3 days of work had to be forced into one night, with an early rise and shine kinda thing this morning. Long story short, builds are shitty, lost 5 laddergames in a row and only thing done well was school. It was then and there I decided, never again. It's all about priorities right? Well, at least school was done properly, and that is number one! But I want to be able to do it all, and from now on I will! Why you ask? Because I have a dream.. Remember me saying in the last blog entry I would tell you guys and girls all about why I decided to change my study to Media and Entertainment Management right? It's all about the dream, and it grows every day.
My dream is one I've had for about two years now. When I learned about the Starcraft-community I fell in love with you people. Why you ask? Well, first of all, it is nothing like 'the outside world' says it is. You guys aren't nerds without jobs, nor are you losers without a social life. You are just like me, normal people with jobs, education, friends and what not. However, we have one thing in common, our love for a game. A game that brings us closer together, no matter how far we live away from eachother. It's a platform to make friends, learn to focus, have fun and many more things. And for this, my dear Starcraft friends, I want to give something back, and that is my dream.
I want to be able to organise events, tournaments, big 'gatherings' and give you a chance to enjoy it all. For those two reasons, my love for the game and my love for the community, I decided I want to be able to do things for all you gamers out there! I just know, that with your support and my persistance in wanting to get there, I will be able to! And ofcourse, my personal reasons aside, there is a growth taking place when it comes to gaming/ gamingevents. More and more people are interested in games and we live in a world where our youth grows up with gaming as something that is more accepted then it was before. So that's why, no matter what will be thrown at me, I will take it, and do all I can to make sure I achieve my goal!
Warm greetings and <3,
Thomas
Ps. ofcourse I will pay enough attention to other important things in life like my family, my girlfriend, my friends and taking care of my health. And so should you, never forget that there is always more to life than just the game. If you are as lucky as me, your loved ones will support you and you will be able to give it your all!!
