Fry sauce is possibly the best condiment ever made. It's a very simple sauce- two parts mayonnaise, one part ketchup, and an array of spices. "Well I always mix ketchup and mayo for my fries!" you might say. But if you're not from Utah or Idaho, you probably haven't had the processed, additive-laden sultry goodness of "real" fry sauce.
Utah fast food chain Arctic Circle claims to have invented the stuff, says Wiki. It's similar to Thousand Island dressing, but not quite as tangy, and it wouldn't taste any good on a salad. Some recipes include pickle juice, some Worcestershire sauce, but nothing beats the original stuff you get at Arctic Circle or other chains.
Whoa buddy. Nothing makes me sadder to know that this stuff is mainly only found in Utah. I remember some McDonald's had packages of this stuff when I was maybe 4 years old, and I'd never even use it on fries. Just ate it plain, because I could never get enough on my fries.
McDonald's ended up not giving fry sauce out anymore because of a loss of profits or something. Which was a shame, because being a healthy American family McD's was the fast food restaurant of choice.
You can buy the stuff online different places, but I'll assure you nothing beats the little condiment packages you get at pretty much any fast food place in Utah. Stephen's Gourmet Fry Sauce is pretty good, if you're actually interested enough to buy some. But, you might as well just make your own. My personal favorite is something like 2/3 C mayo, 1/3 C ketchup, and pickle juice to taste. Sounds a little weird, I know. It's good, though.
If you're ever in Utah for whatever reason, ask for fry sauce instead of ketchup. I promise you won't regret it.

I'm almost positive paprika is often used. It just depends where you go, I guess, because there are a lot of little variations that different places use. It's pretty straight forward though. Like I said, if you're gonna make it, you can never go wrong with just ketchup+mayo+pickle juice!

It really doesn't taste a thing like ketchup in my opinion!

Lol, when I was a small kid I realized that mixing 1 part mustard, 1 part mayo and 1/3 part ketchup created an amazing frie sauce, no reason to use this packaged stuff, just make it on your own .

My man! Another Utah Native on TL!! Thought I was the only one.
Fry Sauce is awesome. I know in some parts of the United States you can get it at Wal-Mart in the condiments section. It's a brand called Some Dudes Fry Sauce and comes in a squeeze bottle like ketchup. I've seen it in Arizona and California.

I spent a month in singapore for mid-semester break, and i try 3 types of new chips i had never had before the first was "chili cheese beef fries" at Carls jr (never seen it in Aus) its was pretty good but way too salty for my taste, had to wash it down with a burger (oh god i hope that slogan doesnt change in other countries or no ones gonna know what i'm talking about) second was Maccas in SG, where they provide hot chili sauce for u OMG i love spicy food so that was a delight and finally cheese fries at the sg KFC, where it was basically melted cheese and i think sour cream mixed together and poured over the chips, surprisingly delicious I guess when i visit america i gotta get some fry sauce
