Jokes aside, sorry guys. What I said was true - I really thought it's some funky 3rd party mechanic is going on... Without 3rd party present >_>
Nice job guys, this was a slaughter.

I enjoyed the game up until getting myself modkilled, perhaps found the setup a bit *too* interesting. Really appreciate being allowed to play this one, although I don't think I played particularly well and again...had to be modkilled. The last couple days really dragged on, but that's less to do with the setup and more to do with the mafia team not conceding. I will say that town's power roles felt very strong. Basically 4 extra KP with the king lynches, nuke, and supersoft, a parity cop, and two message cops. Granted, we didn't, but it seemed like if either nosy employee had landed on Gonzaw or Sloosh early on, the game would have quickly fallen apart.

I think we both assumed plurality but copied the OP from a game with extended majority and forgot about it/didn't notice until someone mentioned it some ways into day 1. At that point it felt too late to change. Sorry about that!

As mafia you HAVE to punish townies for trying to clear themselves and you cannot let confirmed townies be established easily. This game had far too many people who simply were not considered mafia for most of the game and no mafia within that pool. Palmar exploited this very effectively in Liar game with his 'king me' move (unfortunately he wasn't particularly motivated this game so no repeat). When someone says 'im obviously town this game quit questioning me' (I think syllo and a few others did it), you have to call them out on it and/or start doing it yourself. By itself it means nothing, but if you don't stop it, others slowly begin to think that way. Basically players like syllo/sandro in particular this game acted as though they were confirmed town and because the mafia didn't do anything to stop it, they became essentially confirmed town in the eyes of many people. But if you simply say, 'no you aren't confirmed town, what have you done to show that?' it immediately prevents any such problems. If townies try to assert other people are townies (or mafia), you need to force them to prove it. For example, Sandroba's previous game history, when analyzed with this game, would obviously prove him town by day 2. But if a townie tries to say that, you have to force them to give proof to the rest of the town, as otherwise its an empty claim. So if someone claims that sandro is town because this is how he plays as town, you have to make them go through the effort to go through previous games and use posts to show that this is true. A lot of people simply won't bother doing this, and even if they do it they might not do it correctly, allowing you to cast more doubt on it. You also can get a lot of points this way for defending townies who have no real cases on them and are just sloppily getting bandwagoned. Then you can later do this same thing to defend mafia who are just getting bandwagoned off of a general feeling and nothing concrete (as happened several times this game). Don't give the town an inch of ground. Make them fight for everything.

@Hosts: I thought the game was very fun, and I enjoyed the mechanics. This felt more like what I wanted from the Sleeper Cell games. I'm looking forward to part II.

I forgot who I had the conversation with, but a long time ago I was on AIM with one of you and we discussed how hard a mafia traitor is to balance. The second I read my roll PM I thought "sonofabitch they did it." Anyway I'm curious of your opinions on how I played the role. It was my goal to appear on at least half the suspect lists per day because I figured that would give me leeway to go after people who I thought were scummy and have my overlord dismiss it as me just trying to get heat away from myself. I honestly did think rastaban was scum at first but then the very first PM I received told me that he was a good target for me to go after so then I had to find a way to continue to push for him without him dying. The situation that arose with supersoft is one that I had assumed would happen since I figured I couldn't play quasi scummy all game without getting called on it. However, it's remarkably easier to defend yourself when you know you're innocent so I was banking on that to get me through. The whole bit of fake claiming cop was because I was under the impression that the mafia still had the ability to use the trapdoor on me and I didn't want to give them a free KP. It became fairly obvious that I was the traitor but they waited until night to kill me so I almost thought I had gotten away with it . Anyway I had a lot of fun, I felt like I was walking on a tightrope for most of the game which demanded I play very carefully. The accusations made against me early were very accurate. Thanks to protact and co. for hosting, thanks to town for being one of the better ones in recent memory.

I stand by my statement - supersoft summed it up nicely in his rage. The consensus is that I get lucky. It's good to know that's not unanimously considered to be the case.
