Of course I fantasized being a GSL player. The fantasy is roughly that I visit Korea and apply to Code-B out of fun (and can circumvent the check for my ladder standing due to a misunderstanding) and somehow come through it (despite being in silver league in reality) and get a televised match.
Now I actually dreamt about something similar. In the dream world, only the finals of GSL are held offline while the other matches can be played online. I came far, to the semifinals. I don't know at which point the dream plot began, I remember however being worried that my run could be over because I didn't had any time to practice for the upcoming Bo5. I went into the match with knowing that I would lose but still I wanted to show my best. I need to get to the finals because that offline event would expose me to the world.
However I got beaten by MC 3-1. I won a single game (the second set) because he couldn't handle my early roach pressure. While I didn't came through the entire tournament, I had the comfort of having my ID forever in the GSL archive: aths_Rookie. In the dream, I browsed the GSL website and saw it there: My ID! (My actual Starcraft ID is Sarge, however, and I never attached a "Rookie" to my IDs.)
I woke up in the middle of the night and thought "I did play those games, right?" It took me some seconds to realize that in reality I don't even ever participate in online cups.
What is so strange about that dream is how real it felt.

ever seen tottal recall? :D

Its crazy how dreams can feel so real. Like heck last night I had a dream that i got denied by a lovely girl who was everything i wanted, like in real life lol.

Its your calling, a vision to go pro. Do it. . .and fulfill your destiny!

o___O one day, you're going to be watching GSL when MC is playing against a zerg, and you're going to see that exact same motions being played out. And it's going to totally weird you out XD

I maybe should add that I was under drug influence (alcohol and pain killers don't mix well, I had a nightmare in the same night, too, however about a total different topic. In that said nightmare I saw horrible images and I was filled with indignation that my own brain could produce such things.)
The GSL dream however gave me a warm feeling as long as it went. And it felt so real that I really was confused after I woke up about what is true.

Nice blog.
I've had some dreams about friends I haven't seen in ages (1 or more year), and they called me the next morning or showed up at my house. I personally blame it on brain waves. lol... yeah. Our brain emits (and receives? in what magnitude?) waves. http://blog.ted.com/2010/07/22/a_headset_that/. I haven't watched that video but it should be about the thing. Those dreams + that helmet made me give up not believing in telekinesis / telepathy.
Also, many say that time could actually not be as linear as we make it to be, which... could explain the fact that you sometimes dream about a situation "before" you see it happen.
Edit : well fuck, this video barely illustrates my point and actually create confusion about it. Doesn't matter, i think it's still quite instructive.

I think what Murlox is saying is that some people have an experience, and have a dream before it, and then they remember the dream as being a premonition of the experience-- like a piece of clay that's molded by what happens later, but because it's in your mind you never knew it was ever different than how you remember it now.

No...
Dam I seem to fail at communicating my ideas at the moment. I edited the post quite a bit too, that didn't help.
What I meant, in a nutshell, is :
1°) I used to give 0 credit to premonition, telekinesis, etc. To write it poorly, this was all bullcrap from uneducated people for me.
2°) I had premonitions in dreams, and these quite improbable situations occurred (I dream about a friend I haven't seen or heard of for years and he shows up at my house the next mourning ?! Living at 900 km ?! And that thing happened twice so far)
3°) I learned that human brain does actually emit something (the helmet in the video illustrates it), so I fathom it could, why not, also receive things. Well... the sole demonstration of the emission did render telekinesis or telepathy way less stupid in my eyes.
4°) I recently read articles about premonitions and they talked about time not necessarily being as linear as one use to think, idea which I... could agree with. More like I can't actually argue against it, and it could somewhat explain the premonition thingy.
Hope my post is more clear this way.

That only happen twice? Since you dream every day several dreams, this should be expected. It is extremely inprobable that humans can communicate with brain activity, the signals are very weak and should be masked by noise. Also we are not aware of any sender and/or receiver organ within our body.
In my dreams I am suprisingly often aware (sometimes more, sometimes less) that I am currently dreaming. Because I see that I can change the environment, and repeat a situation, or make my body invisible, or even fly (though it is hard to fly in dreams for more than some seconds.)
But that dream I described in the OP felt real to me even though some things did not fit. For example I remembered a place in my old hometown, where I no longer live. Also the GSL meeting hall didn't resemble the actual place (which I only know from videos) it was more like a school. Also I thought about the place, shouldn't all GSL be held offline? It turned out that games before finals can be played online – how convinient (and a typical shift of facts which can occur during a dream without being detected as illogical.)
Still I did believe during the dream – and some seconds after I woke up – that I came far in the GSL and that I took one game off MC and that my ID can be looked up on gomtv.net.
