I really like your writing style, and once again, I am amazed that you became a sane person after growing up in this context.

Obviously he didn't want to tree falling on his house, so he came up with a brilliant plan. He would tie a few small nylon ropes to the top of the three, pull them tightly and tie them off to some stakes in the ground. Obviously that would make the tree fall in that direction, right? Well, as anyone with common sense could have predicted as soon as he finished cutting through the trunk and it was free and moved slightly to the right, the tiny ropes went slack and several hundred pounds of wood fell right into his house. It was a ranch, so the trunk left a nice big dent in his roof. You can always tell people who aren't very bright, they do things like try to cut down 800lbs trees that are four feet from their house by themselves.

It was a pretty big tree, trunk was at least three feet in diameter and the main trunk was at least 10 feet high. More importantly, it was about four feet from his house. He started by pulling off all the branches and was left with just the large trunk standing free. Obviously he didn't want to tree falling on his house, so he came up with a brilliant plan. We have to conclude that people are perpetually high on prescription drugs while expertly cutting down trees. Canada is just a cut above the rest of the world when it comes to tree cutting.
