Hey guys, greetings from Afghanistan.
So I'm building a new brand for when I get home and I'm really focused on getting the branding right while I still have time in country. Please help me get some logo feedback, I'm thinking first and foremost a different font. But there could be other things I overlooked, any ideas?

Seems pretty cool. Very angry looking controllers
|
looks like a mixture between angry sumo ringer and joypad
|
Thanks, but what about feedback? Like, I'm really looking at the font cause I think it needs some "love"
|
Too simple, I think the lines need to be bolder or fatter.
|
You could look at making the logo more scaleable: e.g. where on a smaller sized image of the logo it still maintains its visual disctinctiveness/'identity'. Also, maybe minimize the amount of different line pieces a bit (e.g. combine a few of them into simpler/less angles)
Good luck with the site!

Maby fuse those 3 logo's in one to get an RGB effect(that effect you get with 3D) if you know what I mean. Can't comment on the design since I don't know what you are aiming for.
Or you could remove those spaces in between and get a sort of distortion effect like with a TV. Since thats what I am seeing when I look at the logo a controller + TV.
Or you could try to get a keyboard, xbox controller and a ps3 controller into that controller. Sort of getting keyboard on left side, ps3 pushbutton in the middel with sellect and start and the dreamcast(xbox) Y,X, A, B on the right.
Don't know what binge stands for but maby these idea's will help you abit.
Ps. Nobody cares about fonts it all in the logo

If it isn't too late for a complete re-design (Which isn't necessary, just a thought.) I'd play around more with the concept of binge more with it... you have the gaming controller, which is great for gaming, but not so much if you're focused on PC.
I think it is very simplistic, which can be great depending on where you're going to put it, and it is very square, which I've found can be extremely frustrating now that everything is 16 : 9. (Finding screen space if you're using it in an overlay can be a pain, as can using it as a part of a tag in an image for a forum.)
It being that simplistic can also hurt readability, and you'll have to add a drop shadow, or some kind of other backing if you want to use it as an overlay. If I cover the lettering, or it isn't included, the symbol itself doesn't suggest binge gaming in any way, and the text itself doesn't suggest binging, or gaming other than using the words.
Sorry if... this comes off as super negative. I'm super critical of my own work, and I find that being overly negative usually results in more positive changes than accepting stuff. Honestly, it looks pretty good to me as it is, just a question of what is important to you, where you're using it, etc.

No these are all valid. I care very much about my new brand, it will be the first time I will be able to dedicate my time to gaming ( no college debt etc ) ... So Yes I WANT to get it right, so be critical while I have time to mess with it obsessively :p

Well I went with the controller because, well, I want the "gaming" portion to be front and center. I've considered alternatives, joysticks, mice, keyboards, combinations of both and I think the controller sends the message the best since it's universally understood that gaming = controllers.
I'm considering, inverting it, throwing it in a rounded-edge box to maintain readability as it will be used as an overlay, etc. Thoughts?

Don't be afraid to try larger changes. In every logo you have your graphic, with the text in the same font centered below that graphic. Try moving things around. This will most likely be displayed on a webpage. Probably top left? Try moving the controller graphic to the left to line up with the left edge of the capital B. Try things like enlarging and bolding just "BingeGaming." but leave "TV" small. Try all caps; try all lowercase.
And tbh, I like the "skinnier" controller. Gave it a more dynamic and sleek feel. As if you actually thought about line weight, etc. now everything's just fat and boring, imo.
Keep posting updates! Don't be afraid to Save As and drastically change something, just to see how it feels. If it sucks, then you always have the first file intact and untouched. glhf!

thanks, yes, I'll definitely keep playing with this. I do happen to have a degree in digital arts and design. I've definitely done this rodeo before . I'll keep you posted!

^^^ THIS is the feedback I really took to heart on the next interation:
Two weeks since an update, HERE YOU GO!!! I've added another version of this:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/78979105@N03/6986954022/in/photostream
I found out my original font was "personal use" only. I wanted to change it anyways.
I manually tweaked Helvetica and came up with this, I need y'alls thoughts and feedback, the controller with the bent antennas has grown on me. I can't seem to find much better than that at this time. I'm still open to thoughts though. Thank you so much for your feedback and help with this guys!
I love this community! Please understand I'm doing this in the freetime I have during this stupid occupation in Afghanistan.

Cool to hear my feedback was useful :D New text is way better than before, it looks like a professional thing now! I want to say again I think the logo is great.
Out of the new text choices I initially was more drawn to the one with the big .TV text as I thought it looked generally more polished, but I realise that was simply due to the fact that it is centered properly. I believe the text with the small .TV is the better one, but I think the text should be centered as if the .TV isn't there (i.e. move the text over to the right a bit).
I don't have many other tweaks for improvement of THAT design, but don't be afraid to experiment with other stuff. Do you plan to make adaptations / variations of the current logo / text? (eg just the logo)
How does it look if the icon is large, and the "bingegaming.tvt" text goes across the middle of the controller? Could a miniature logo be used as the 'a' in 'bingegaming' ? Could you spice up the text to have scores, or underlines, or shapes etc? What about a crosshair etc? Could you make one that's just: B [LOGO] G ?
Just food for thought.
