You may not agree with American copyright law, or how I've handled this situation, but this doesn't allow you act this way, even if you are only trolling. Now that you've recognized your error, I'd advise you to cease and desist continuing to host that image on your Flickr account. Or you can just wait for my already submitted DMCA Takedown notice to take effect and have it done for you. Wow, are you serious?

I actually don't think Yahoo Mail sent off my DMCA notice, might have hit discard instead of send. At any rate, the infringing content has been taken down. And yes, I was serious. I would be pretty happy if someone used my photo, maybe if they gave some credit at least though. Long and short is that they failed to give me credit or ask for permission. All is well now though.

Your photo is copyrighted the instant you press the shutter button. It remains your copyright until you sign off your rights to the work or place it in the public domain. There are other licensing options available to you as a content creator, such Creative Commons, that are fashionably termed as 'copyleft,' but they are copyrights still. It's something I've seen handled badly in other places, glad MLG handled it when it was pointed out, good to see!

Glad the two parties were able to get it sorted amicably. I'm also really glad that last thread was closed because some of those replies were just downright infuriating. To some people including myself, that this whole issue appears to be a new frontier in MLG pitchforking.

Except this is way removed from bitching about casters or complaining about downtime between streams. Image copyright is a serious legal thing in the real world. Just because it is ESPORTS doesn't mean companies working within that space can afford to be lax in their practices. You quote NonY in your sig, most likely in response to people not liking MLG's pay-per-view move: "Guess what....shit costs money." -Liquid'Nony Well guess what, using copyrighted images in your for-profit broadcast requires one to gain at least permission and attribution; sometimes it will cost money. It's all settled now though.
