Hello
I've been a casual 1v1 league protoss player under the nick Opposite on the EU servers until I lost the battle with game anxiety at the start of season 1. I was a top gold player (a fairly good position in retrospective) at that time and ever since I've tried to restart playing SC2 in S4 and S6 lying myself that I could switch to random and zerg but only to give up after the placement games (bottom gold in S4 and botom silver now).
I want to start this blog to motivate myself into beating my game crippling anxiety and to restart playing the race that got me into this game: protoss only this time to do it properly with less cheese and more macro.
My goals, starting 1st of march, in the order of importance are:
- To beat my game anxiety: play a minimum of 10 games/day; save the replays and comment on some of them here after each daily session.
- Improve my macro: no cheese games
- Be top gold at the end of March. With 251 Leagues games that got me to top gold two years ago, I think 300 games played at the end of March will get me to the same position. We'll see.
- Finish gold in each challenge until 1st of March for micro purposes.
But first, I'll see if I can get past my 1st week of this plan.
So, if you intend un unironically follow this blog brace yourself for some terrible micro and macro games and some other facepalm-worthy unexpected things.
P.S.: Ocasionally I'll post some poker related stuff: from videos to some interesting/fun/bad beat hands I encounter in my games.

Word. Good luck buddy

It's good to learn how to macro well...just don't forget how to cheese correctly either. It's worth using every now and then to make sure you don't play on autopilot. glhf :D

Thanks for the replies!
As a matter of fact I wasn't an all round cheeser. I only knew how to 4 gate properly and that's all what it took to get me to gold. No 2 gates and canon rushes. I guess I'll practice on those too (maybe 1 game out of 10 dailies should be a rush)
As for the challenges, I've made it to gold in the first three and the Cover Ops and I'm silver in the protoss lvl 2.
Speaking of poker, I've begun playing at the beginning of January and after some study and money lost (~120$ on various platforms) I can safely say that I just begun to slowly get my investment back from low stakes SnG's with the precious help of the nice people playing at Cake Poker.
Here's the final hand I just won in a SnG's.
Cake Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 125/250 Blinds (3 handed) - Cake Poker Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
Button (t3455) Hero (SB) (t6795) BB (t4750)
Hero's M: 18.12
Preflop: Hero is SB with A, 10 Button bets t3430, Hero calls t3305, BB raises t4475, Hero calls t1295
Flop: (t12880) 9, 10, J
Turn: (t12880) 5
River: (t12880) A Total pot: t12880 Main pot: t12880 between Button, Hero and BB, won by Hero
Results: Button had 8, 8 (one pair, eights). Hero had A, 10 (two pair, Aces and tens). BB had 6, 6 (one pair, sixes). Outcome: Hero won t12955
Now normally, when leading in chips in the final game, paying allins against both the villains and not letting them duking it out is a bad idea but not necesarily in this case, when you know your foes are very loose and are known to go allin with mediocre hands just to steal the blinds (not this case though).
(oh how nice it would be to have codes.

Ok, first day, first session. Weird fact is that I haven't played any zerg only 4 Protosses and 3 Terrans and by the way, I don't think I'll be able to play 10 games/day. 5 games/day is a much more achievable goal.
The results are 4 losses and 3 wins but it's not the results as to what I've learned from them: - apparently matchmaking is trying really hard to put me against gold players; - I'm really bad keeping my focus when I get probe on probe action during scouting which is kinda embarassing; - I need to watch for my FE: I think it should happen at about 6 minutes into the game; - 2 Gate fast obs FE is a really good build against terrans and I should know that when I scout ravens and banshees coupled with marines and medivacs, the best counter are high templars - in the heat of the moment all I could think were stalkers and more stalkers.
This is it for today or maybe I'll get some games later but I'll include them into my tomorrow post if they're relevant (I still haven't used my cheese start - guess I'm waiting for a zerg to abuse)
EDIT: Also, I've won my first 5$ Buy-in SNG today for a 20$ prize which put my bankroll back on track again (yeah, I'm a small fish with a puny 50$ bankroll).

I'm back! Didn't think I'd play another game since the last but I keep myself motivated by watching the GSL games plus I have this blog that somehow makes me want to keep it updated.
So, after a 10 days pause, I managed to play 5 games yesterday with a record of 4-1. Apparently the lesson I'm at, is really useful: keep building stuff and go kill him. I can't do too many fancy stuff like dropping or any sort of multitasking but I hope that building stuff will become instinctive.
I've installed the sc2gears program but I have no idea how what is it supposed to help me with so any suggestion is very welcome. For example, I'd like to know how much idle time do my gateways have.
A game I'm proud of is one against a protoss player in which, even if my initial attack was thwarted, he countered my stalker army with immortals (I responded by switching to zealots), had his expansion up and running before me and generally played better, I've managed to win by having better upgrades (thank you GSL for the two forge idea).
