Before the patch I never had a single bug but now all melee companions randomly stop fighting and then walk towards me drawing all enemies to me and making the game unplayable as such a character Well, you could just dismiss your companions and sneak...I have a sneaky archer character too. I use it all the time in combat, because of its really short cooldown and ability to both stagger enemies in close range and temporarily pacify dragons. It also clears away poisonous gas from certain traps. And, of course, it clears the skies. It's hardly a useless Shout; in fact, it's one of the Shouts used enough to make it onto my Favorites menu (the others being Throw Voice [This Shout is fuckin' amazing], Whirlwind Sprint, and Elemental Fury). Clear Skies also counteracts Dragon Storm Call, Alduin's meteor shower shout.

I'm trying to block as much as I can, try to hit some power bashes and then hit with my melee....but I cannot really grasp how I should do my power attacks. Most of the times they just get out of the way as I hold down the button and my character swings to empty space. On master, the damage I deal just tickles basically anyone. I don't have great equipment yet, just steel armor improved to superior, and the weapon I got from the companion quest. Can someone experienced in playing melee give me some tips on how to play it better so that I can have fun instead of watching my Dragonborn's ass get kicked 24/7?

I managed to deal with it for some time, but then I did this quest for Companions where you team up with the Huntress and then there was a boss fight that I just could not beat. Even before that, just two mobs would zerg and kill me. So I had to reduce the difficulty to adept because honestly, as much as I love difficulty in games, pure damage taken/dealt type of difficulties are just retarded, and I just could not take dying 10 times to a simple two-hander guy. You should dodge attacks from two-handed opponents instead of blocking them whenever possible. With power attacks, try to use the sideways ones or the forward charge, because they can't really dodge those, plus when you get the appropriate perk the sideways power attack has a chance to decapitate :D. Once you get the quick reflexes perk under block, bashing can be used to interrupt enemy power attacks very easily. You should probably avoid power bashing since the damage is pretty low and it drains a lot of stamina. You can also use beast form in that mission even though you were just in it before, so if you want to just wreck them that way, that should work. You do massive damage in beast form and gain an extra 100 health and stamina, but you are unable to use items/spells and all gear is unequipped. Try sprinting power attacks with both mouse buttons - the target goes flying and lies on the ground for several seconds. Also try hitting Z to howl, causing enemies to panic. Make liberal use of regular power attacks in beast form as well; they have a large chance to stun targets. If you have the critical hit chance perk for swords under one-handed, you can crit in beast form, which is an instant kill - varies from throwing people tremendous distances to biting their heads off. Beast form benefits from one-handed and dual wield perks, as the werewolf claws are considered to be dual wielded one handed weapons. Until a couple of patches ago, beast form also benefited from light armor but now has 0 base armor - this may be a bug though. Light armor can hit the armor cap, so it's a pretty good choice. Beast form has a base duration of 180 seconds, but after each fight if you feed on humanoid corpses, you get 50 hp back and an extra 30 seconds added to the clock. I completed the very quest you're talking about, as well as the quest after, on Master at level 14 with my warrior in beast form. I stopped by at a fort on the way and cleared it out to increase the duration, but I'm not sure if that was even necessary, because it lasted so damn long.

I got the sprinting power attack perk, so what I need to do is to hold both mouse buttons? Also, how do I execute the forward power attack? Is it W and Hold Mouse Button 1(Attack) ? I'll try to do sideway power attacks more. I'll have to learn how to dodge aswell, I guess. Can I just move back, or should I go for the sideways route for that aswell? Also, for the RP value, I don't wanna go werewolf. I hope there is some way to cure that.

Nah, just move forward while power attacking. I was saying that in beast form you should hold both mouse buttons while sprinting. The direction you move to dodge depends on the type of attack your opponent is using. The only way to cure beast form is near the end of the companions quest line.

I was doing the first companion quest with farkas and I can't dismiss him and I didn't want to set the difficulty down...guess I have to now. I was just mad because it wasn't my decision to patch the game, steam decided for itself and made my game buggy On the other hand I think I will continue with my older jack of all trades character. Just sitting in corners and shooting stuff gets boring real fast -.-

I do have one more request though, can you get like a nice stream/daylight/Falkreath pic? Thanks if you can! :D <3 Sure, will do ^_^ On January 20 2012 14:44 darkrage14 wrote: What mod(s) are you using to achieve that look? Also if u have the Clear Skies shout, that gets rid of the bad weather (OMG THAT SHOUT HAS A USE)......or you can use the console but that kills roleplaying. Shit I didn't even remember I had the clear skies shout lol. Here is my current mod list - make sure you have a lot of system and GPU memory to spare.

I would love to have more stuff to explore for my 4th character ! ;D If there are, which I doubt, then they're bad. The creation kit isn't out yet. Once that comes out, people can finally start to make REALLY powerful mods.

I am exceptionally good at running away.

I'm powerful enough to kill 10 soldiers, got enough money to buy all mercenaries. Why in the name of god can't i just make my own army, kill everyone else and make myself ruler of skyrim?
