Stuff like basic Elder Scrolls mechanics, the modding aspect, choice gameplay videos? I'm open to suggestions. Send me a PM if you have something you feel should be included (something that will really show the grandeur of Skyrim to a new player), and I will consider its inclusion.
Don't bother PM'ing the Macho Man dragon mod, though, because that's making an appearance EZ. This link needs to be in the OP: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim
Great guide, both for new players about character creation and general gameplay, and everything else once you get into the game.

Yeah, UESP is such a great resource. I use it all the time.

Started my second playthrough with a one handed/block/archery/alteration/restoration character and I must say, the game feels fresh and exciting once more. The melee is so much fun, especially the kill animations!! Also, I'm playing straight up on master difficulty, and if I didn't have a follower, I would get 3 shot by the simples draugs, so the game is still some challenge at this time. Also, I have a ton of mods now (especially the graphic ones) and the game just looks awesome, though I get big stutters in large areas that might take a couple second to move on, the game still players 45-60 fps normally, just not in Whiterun or Markarth I'm playing on Ultra btw.
Also, I have realistic lighting mod, and man, it is day and night in terms of difference. I actually need a torch or another lighting source in dungeons, it is that dark, I cannot see shit except the blue eyes of draugs in those dungeons, and every environment looks better because of that.
Here are three pairs of screenshots taken in Bleak Falls Barrow, to illustrate the graphics mods I have installed and their effects. They are taken in the same place, with and without a torch, so that you can see the difference. I can upload more screenshots with outdoors, or npcs, or indoors if you guys wanna see it more.

Notice how dark that is, the difference between torch and without torch is big. It's really tough to fight without a torch here, so I need to get candlelight asap or I'm gonna be blind in dungeons! Fighting and trying to hit something is really tough in that setting, fortunately the draugr have blue glowing eyes so it's somewhat easier to see. Against humanoids, I don't know what will happen but we will see!
I'm playing on everything maxed except view distance, which is Medium. This didn't fix my fps problems in Whiterun tho.
Enjoy!

I am using Skyrim 2K, Realistic Lighting with FXAA, Vurt's Fauna mod, No Blocky Faces, a mod that changes NPC clothes and makes them HD, and a couple more.

So jealous! TT I wish I had a gosu computer that could max out with mods, games sexy as fuck vanilla on medium, difference is probably insane. I'm waiting on the official mod kit before I use mods again, gonna be nice to have the ones that help frame rate back, gonna bump it all back up to high with some AA, smooth out dem edges yo! edit-Show a screenshot if your using those HD mods and shit, I really wanna see what it looks like with all that on/maxed out.

Yeah some screens would be awesome Bleak.

Wonder what that "a couple more" is on the old mods...naked people!! lol Those images are so dark I don't think they do justice to what you would see if you took those outside somewhere. Should take em by a stream or somewhere in the woods of Falkreath, that's my favorite hold.

Nice. You should also check out Skyrim Flora + Serious HD Retexture.
the Realistic Lighting mod is epic, if you're in a cave you HAVE to have a torch or magelight or it's GG. Can't see SHIT.
Here's my mod list, I can still run everything maxed (woo!)

If anyone here hasn't used SkyUI I HIGHLY recommend it.
I even started to like the Skyrim interface/inventory system after I got keybinds down, but shit SkyUI is fuckin epic....
Tytanis is another GREAT mod, it adds a lot of cool items and crafting stuff, cleans up crafting interfaces, and so on - Tytanis is the mod they are using to build Multiplayer Skyrim off of so it's always getting new integrations and stuff!
Also I can throw together screenshots/an album as well. I have a bunch more 2k resolution mods installed so the landscape will be pretty and whatnot...not to steal Bleak's thunder, lol. ^_^

By the way guys, when I first installed Skyrim I tweaked my .ini file with a lot of stuff from some forums that some guy wrote, to improve the graphics. I only had FXAA Injector at that time as a mod.
But now, I have shittons...and I'm kind of tired of big lag spikes in outdoors areas, I'm suspecting this is related to the .ini tweaks that strain the system already have to deal with a ton of mods modifying a lot of stuff. What would happen if I delete my .ini file, would it create another?
Oh, and I forgot to mention SkyUI, but it's awesome. Just get it guys, the inventory becomes so much easier, convenient to organize and also beautiful to look at.

Yes it will create a new one and your settings will default, it will probably pop up the video setting configuration up that you get when you first start the game after an install.

I am a little stupid with mods and a little scared of screwing up my games, but could one of you kind TLers refer me to a helpful guide or explanation on risks/how to guides?

It's really, really easy. Just download Nexus Mod Manager from the Skyrim Nexus. Then, after you've installed that program, find mods that you want to download, and select the "Download to Manager" option on the mod page. Then, when the mod is downloaded to the manager, just activate the mod.
Simple.
Just be sure to back up your saves in case anything weird happens... but with NMM, that really won't happen.

WoW, yesterday I finished the Main-Story and the Motivation now is completly gone -_- I 3-hitted Alduin on master, Enchanting/Smithing is way too overpowered. My 298dps weapon seems too good :/

If youre going for enchanting smithing abuse, then 300dps is pretty low. You can get 5k damage weapons easily.

But then again with that patch (supposed to this month right??) hitting soon that should simplify modding quite a bit. Show some sexy in-game screenshots too, that will get people wanting to buy it, games gorgeous!
It's almost always as simple as extracting the files into your data folder and activating the .esp/.esm; it's just like what we've done with Morrowind, Oblivion and the Gamebryo Fallout games for years.

With or without manager is both very easy, but the manager just leaves you with a very clear list of all the mods you have installed instead of 20 loose files in your skyrim folder. On top of that, the manager is just slightly easier, in that it tells you when mods are succesfully activated or not, it tells you when mods are outdated, and installing with the manager is really hard to screw up.

WoW you must be really bad if you need to abuse the game this hard.

He never said he was so bad that he had to use such powerful weapons, only that 300 DPS is fairly low compared to the potential DPS you can achieve.
On a side note, the Riften guards seem to have some nutcases in their ranks. I've been told twice by two different guards that I'm like them, in that I don't favor clunky two-handed weapons. Both guards carried battle-axes.
Is life too fuckin' weird or what?

They mean they were an adventurer like you, but then they took an arrow in the knee.
