iHearteSports.com is stoked to announce our new product line; collectible eSports player stickers. These baseball card sized stickers are a first of their kind product for the eSports community. Players such as White Ra, coL.MVP.DongRaeGu, coL.Catz, viOlet and others are available now. Each Tuesday throughout January and February, we will be releasing new players and announcing new team partnerships. By the end of February we will have over 30 players to collect!
Player cards have long been a part of professional sports and provide an excellent way for fans to connect with their favorite teams and players. Through our licensing agreements with each team, our collectible stickers will also provide additional merchandising revenue for each of our partner teams.
"This is a first of its kind product for the eSports community that has been many months in the making. I am so excited to release these stickers just in time for the 2012 eSports ‘season'", said Jason Tugman, Product Manager for iHearteSports.com. “One thing I am really excited about with player stickers is that they are small and light- this makes them very accessible to the global eSports community. Australia, Denmark and Germany are huge markets for eSports. Making a product that we could ship internationally and not have to charge our customers ridiculous postal fees for was really important to me. Being able to create a product that fans want, being able to make that product affordable all while supporting the eSports eco-system is, to me, a win-win-win situation". I don't quite understand the logo.. "I alt 3" doesn't = "I <3" Also, out of curiosity, are these stickers legal? Like, is it okay with the progamers in them, etc.

my first thought. did they seek approval from the players? do they need approval? do they players recieve any compensation for being on the card that sells?

I saw the coL ones and wasn't super interested... but then they got White-Ra in on it.

They mention on the sticker pages that the stickers are in conjunction with/support the aforementioned player/team so I'm fairly confident they've acquired their permission to do it.

Approval was given by the players.
Also.. another thing.. its 'pro gamers' not progamers.. why do TL peeps do that?

yes, these are done in partnership with the teams and/or players. We have licensing agreements with everyone and the teams get revenue from each sale.
Also, the black and white White Ra sticker was sourced from a photo from eSports photographer Azureman - which we licensed from him - so on that sticker the photographer and team makes money.
