I never create LR threads as I wouldn't have time to update them, but I would be honoured if they were used.
That's me with my sleeping hat (and cube) . + Show Spoiler +
Could a mod edit my topic name, so nobody sees how much I suck at spelling?
WOW
it took me a second to realize you spelled them out with the colors
that's awesome where's seeker
Wow, this is impressive. Took me a second also. I'm jealous of your cube talents.
Woah. Like the others it took me a moment. Very cool man.
Very original, I like it.
Thanks cubing is actually fairly simple. You're only able to brag to people who've never tried it themselves.

They are indeed quite hard to see at first, so they would be rather confusing in a LR thread, where you practically want to use banners to streamline information, and help readers find stuff (besides the obvious aesthetic upgrade).
I think this needs to be solved before they can be used well. I can think of two things: - either taking all the pictures in the same setting - now you have a keyboard, hands, a mug, and various dark and light textures for background, and different sized cubes to boot, it's kinda distracting. - or doing some photo-manipulation to make the letters stand out. Here's a desaturated mockup of the first one (takes ~30 seconds to do):
Cool idea otherwise.
edit: and it's Rubik's

Yeah I did all these in my holiday resort, on the airport and on the plane.. so I couldnt quiet get the same setting. I agree the are hard to see and I think the way you solved it makes it look pretty good. If someone did that with all the words , I would include them in my OP ( Or wait a week and I could do it myself ).

I've been speedcubing for years and I've never seen a cube with holes punched into the centers. What is that for? I can't figure it out.
Cool stuff :D Thank God for the Firstpost because I would have never quite understood what I was looking at.

I didn't really see the letters through the colors.
I think it would have been better if you only used two colours. Otherwise quite amazing.
Pretty cool. Unique and creative.

Thanks for all the nice feedback !

I tried to use only two colours ( as you can see on the simple letters ) but for the more difficult ones, that was impossible. I tried to make it as good as possible, maybe there are better solutions tho.

I took it apart and had a look inside to try and understand how the mechanics behind it work. There are screws inside the holes.
What kind of cube do you have? Mine doesn't have screws. :o
I bought it at a 1-euro-store last week.. its a really crappy one.
Cool idea, but I don't know how widely they would be used seeing as people who go through the LR threads are praying for easy navigation.
If you want a really good one get a Dayan Zhanchi. I would be amazed if you found it in a nearby store so online is your best bet. They're usually cheaper than a Rubik's brand and better in every way. You can also just pop off the center caps to get to the screws.
That is so creative. At first I didn't realise it as well. Then I saw the captions for the pictures
